Jeff Del Col * "I'm never lonely,...living in my heavily
A-B College * populated solitude, a harum-scarum of infinity
Philippi, WV * and eternity, and Infinity and Eternity seem to
* take a liking to the likes of me." Bohumil Hrabal.
I can't answer for all of them, but my answer is usually
TROPIC APPETITES. Or SOCIAL STUDIES.
TROPIC is dense and diverse, with moods ranging from Julie Tippets'
abstract vocals and Gato Barbieri's passionate tenor to a cello &
violin interlude to the Nino Rota-like finale.
STUDIES is more normal, mellow but deep. It has some wonderful
melodies (e.g. Utviklingsang) superbly arranged and executed. And the
long and wonderful Reactionary Tango, which revolves around Steve
Swallow's electric bass, is a classic.

Well, which of Carla's musics? :-)
My favorite is Musique Mecanique, but then you people know I just
bought some more Evan Parker records, and where my biases lie...
