Ooops, I mean West 54th... Anybody see this? PM had half of the 1 hour
show, with 3 numbers and some interviews. Metheny did an extended bit
on his harp guitar leading into one of his better known tunes with the
band. Then there was a pretty outside tune that had Lyle on guitar
(Glass-ish - was that from Zero Tolerance?), and finally a short duet
with Charlie Haden from their Missouri Sky collaboration. All things
being equal, I would like to have heard more of Lyle and some music from
their Quartet recording.

David Byrne of Talking Heads is hosting the show now, and seemed nervous
in his interviews with PM. Kind of an odd choice for this gig, but
maybe he'll settle into the role.

In the past, they've had Wynton, Dave Holland's band and Leo Kottke to
name a few. They have a complete schedule and info at

Here are details about the tunes broadcast on the show:

This was "Into the Dream" from the newest album "Imaginary Day", with
Pat playing his custom-made 42-string guitar (nicknamed the "Picasso"
because it's oddly shaped), followed by the old stand-by "Have You Heard"
from the '80s album "Letter from Home".

>Then there was a pretty outside tune that had Lyle on guitar
>(Glass-ish - was that from Zero Tolerance?),

This was also from "Imaginary Day", a complicated composition titled
"The Roots of Coincidence". Believe me, "Zero Tolerance for Silence"
makes this tune sound like "Moon River".

>and finally a short duet
>with Charlie Haden from their Missouri Sky collaboration.

This was "Waltz for Ruth" by Haden.
