This came up in another newsgroup. I thought I would ask the question
here.

Miles Davis writes in his autobiography about admiring composer
Karlheinz Stockhausen's music. Some sources state that Sony has a
session rhe two recorded together among its Miles Davis vault tapes.

Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks.

Not me, but it would be great if it turned up... like the long-rumored
Cecil Taylor-Albert Ayler tape (supposedly recorded by the BBC in
1962--but then either erased, or not erased, or never made in the first
place, depending on which version of the story you believe).

Meantime, I'll have to content myself with my Buddy Bolden cylinder and
my Stockhausen music box (the latter is real--made by Reuge of
Switzerland in the late 70's).

Unfortunately, the two never met, and no such recording exists.

I also heard a recurring rumor that Stockhausen worked with the Beatles
(Lennon) on his electronic escapdes, esp. Revolution # 9, though I never
confirmed this.

i don't think he worked with them directly, but he was clearly a great
influence on tracks like #9.
