This Wednesday, October 3, at Folk Night at The Ship Pub in
St. John’s, Newfoundland, the headliners are acoustic blues
duo Denis Parker and John Clarke. There is an open mic
set between the two headline sets and open mic performers
get a free Quidi Vidi beer. Also there are door prizes, which
are usually $10 gift certificates donated by sponsors. Also
the kitchen is open until 8 p.m. Cover is only $5.

Here is the blurb from the Facebook event page, which is
https://www.facebook.com/events/237961853548739/ :

"Looking forward to breaking out he acoustics (and the long neglected dobro),
we will be ripping up some blues for your listening pleasure and we will
start at 9:00 pm for those that must rip and slip by midnight. Blues, rags,
stomps and tried and true Parker originals, all night long."

Coming up on October 10 is Ships at The Ship, Tales of the Sea, which is a
storytelling night co-hosted by the St. John’s Storytelling Festival.
Coming up on October 17 is celtic multi-instrumentalist and singer Jason
Whelan.

I forgot to mention that it starts at 9 p.m. and runs until 11:30 p.m.
if there is a full open mic set, or 11 p.m. otherwise.
