I hard that Yoko Ono was recently reunited with her daughter Kyoko.
Does anyone know when, and how, this reunion happened?

Yoko did an interview with BBC Radio 3. Yoko's a grandma now! Steve
Marinucci's website has a link to the transcript:

Go to "What's New and Improved." It's near the top.

Think Yoko will shit-can Sean in favor of her long lost daughter ? Kyoko
might have an album she's trying to get out. They should start their own
band. "Spending The Dead Man's Money" by the "Screaming Seals"

Hi Phil, I hope this is not posting 3 times, because I am having trouble
getting it to go through! I have not heard that Kyoko and Yoko reunited, but
it is very possible. Where did you hear the info.? I know Kyoko slightly. Her
name is Molly now. She said a couple years ago that she wanted to meet Sean.

You're right -- 1995. Here's that section of the interview. Yoko does say
that Kyoko "has come back to" her. Sounds like there's something more to this.
::shrugs::

Q: Your family life often served as springboard for new works. I'm curious:
have the reunion with your daughter Kyoko and the birth of your granddaughter
inspired any new songs or artworks?

YOKO: Well it might come to me. I'm still trying to observe what is going on
with me about it. May I just say that I'm very, very
happy that my daughter has come back to me
and she has this beautiful baby.

I thought her name was Roseanne, Roseanna... Something like that.

Well, Molly must be her nickname then. She even had "Molly" on her wedding
invitations! She went to college about 10 miles from my house and I met her
through a friend of mine that went to the same college. As of two years ago,
she was an editor of a popular women's magazine.

Now this is getting interesting! Paging Richard Joly. He'll know the story
behind this.

a - I don't know the story.

b - and if I did, I wouldn't tell, ie I certainly don't think of
'Kyoko Ono Rosemary Molly Cox ?? etc ' as a public figure... so
unless she herself ever decides to tell details of her life, etc,
we won't know more., I guess.

As for public appearances/stories of the reunion that might have
appeared in the media, so far, there's been only a very few pictures
in Beatles fan publications and some newspapers in Japan, and, if I
remember correctly, some credit for Kyoko [as photographer] on one of
Yoko's webbased artwork.

Oh yeah, and there's also the wholy predictable ' Kyoko was at Yoko's
concert in NY, London, Tokyo, San Francisco, etc ' .. Trouble is these
always turned out to be from someone who knew someone who knew
someone who REALLY was there. Not too helpful. ;-)

Hello Richard, sorry I don't know who you are. I agree with you. The info. I
have given re. Kyoko is only the info. she wants me to know, which is the same
as the info. she would want the public to know. I was carefully given info. by
her that left out vital statistics so that she might retain her private
identity. Even if I knew specifics I wouldn't divulge them, because she
deserves and has a right to her privacy. I think we were only talking about
public information here, at least I was. Thanks for your views.

you can read a review of ONOWEB the unofficial website I maintain
about Yoko at :

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/gateway/gateway4.shtml#interview

you can also trace my postings [ and anyone else for that matter, it
can be very, er, entertaining... ] on Dejanews [ where you post from ]

Go to dejanews.com
and plug in my email address [ or anyone's]
to read what I've posted on Usenet previously.

Sorry that Onoweb is behind with the news, but there's lot of cool
stuff coming, as soon as I can find a new server.

Richard

Which site? Is there one I don't know about? (to make it easier to answer, I
know about the mock flies and Acorns)

I thought I heard it from you. I really was there, but I wouldn't have
recognized Kyoko if she'd been standing on my foot all evening.

mock flies

well, I don't remember exactly what I learned/was passed to me but as
I recall an journalist pal confirmed to me that it was she who
attended one/some of the Ono/Ima concerts. I'll try to search my
archives.

I've friends in Japan who attended the small ceremony [ august 95 ]
at the Hiroshima memorial, where Yoko and members of IMA prayed and
laid flowers in memory of the victims of the bombing. Apparently
Kyoko was there mingling with everyone, no one bothered her, and my
friends only learned later who she was because of the photos that
appeared in papers a few days later.

All this is pretty amusing, it has shades of 'elvis is alive and
living in a trailer park in Omaha'.
