there was also a Gilligan's Island show with a band called the
Mosquitos.
Craig
They had another Flintstones episode that featured Mick Jadestone and
the Rolling Boulders. :-)
Peach
I still remember their names--Bingo, Bango, Bongo and Irving. :-)
Peach
I remember that. It was funny.
Jeff
I don't remember that one. I still like the Flintstones though.
:-)
Jeff
Found a little blurb about it....I remember it so well because I was a
crazy Stones fan. Seems it was on the Pebble & Bamm Bamm show, which
is probably why you don't remember it.
Mick Jadestone and the Rolling Boulders - Rolling Stones parody from
the "Pebbles' Big Boast" (10/23/71) episode of Hanna-Barbera cartoon
The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show. Pebbles Flintstone (voiced by Sally
Struthers!) lies that she knows this band in an attempt to impress
snobby "friend" Cindy Curbstone (voiced by Gay Hartweg). She then
tries to crash all their appearances in an attempt to get them to play
Cindy's party.
Not to invoked the wrath of Poisoned Rose, but from YouTube, Part 2 of
this episode...and the part with Mick in it. :-)

Oops...meant to say "invoke."

Eh. So people can be annoying, right? There are so many worse
faults...

Have you completely lost your mind? How in the world does posting a
song after the passing of the songs singer, possibly interrupt your
pristene life?
In a different vein, you are as nutty as f**tt

Not necessary...you waste away in your own misery.
I find you desperate for love.

You're very good at it. You can show how big an asshole you are in
fewer words than just about anyone else. Bravo.
BTW ...anyone here who is a Flintstones fan has my undying respect !
(And ALSO ...let us not forget that The Flintstones were a parody of
"The Honeymooners" in the first place !!! )

The Munsters had an episode with The Standells and they played I Want To
Hold Your Hand.
There was a series called The In-Laws (or words to that effect) that had
The Seeds.
There was an episode of I Dream Of Jeannie that had both Boyce and Hart
and Phil Spector, but not Beatle related?
Does anyone remember Chad and Jeremy on "The Dick Van Dyke" show?
Or, a group called "The Enemies" on a episode of "The Beverly
Hillbillies"?
Sure...they were a stand in for The Beatles...appearing on the Alan
Brady Show, and Rob had to hide them in his house.
The Dick Van Dyke Show was American TV's tribute to the Kennedy
administration....the Chad and Jeremy episode showed the "next thing"
transition.

More SOLID CONTENT!
I'm feeling closer to saved by the minute!
I have no idea. I'll take your word for it. I've never watched those
shows
and we didn't get the ABC network back in those days to watch
shows like I Dream of Jeannie. Thanks for adding to the thread.
Barely.
> Or, a group called "The Enemies" on a episode of "The Beverly
> Hillbillies"?
No. I didn't like that show. Even "Family Affair" was better.
Brian Keith put on a Beatles Wig. :-)
I have them on DVD, they're easy to get. I have a low quality copy on
VHS tape of the show with The Seeds somewhere.
They might show up on a youtube search I suppose.
and they also did "Do The Ringo"

The Mothers-In-Law was the show

Boyce and Hart also appeared on Bewitched with the sexy Serena
Yet more:
The Sundowners appeared on The Flying Nun
Micky Dolenz showed on My Three Sons - Don Grady (Chip) had a band and
they appeared on the show, too
Davy Jones showed on The Brady Bunch as a date for Marcia, I think
on The Addams Family, Lurch gets a record deal or something like that
- no band / celebs as I recall...
I think "Jeannie" was on NBC.
You're right - that's not hip, that's cool...
The stunners from PR's link (find the PDF to download):

There's one episode where hippies take over the house because of the
daughter of a general.

I remember that one, they were commenting how he could make a living
working in recording studio.

There's an episode where Serena sings a hippy song or two.
But we're getting a bit past capitalizing on the popularity of The
Beatles with some.
I can't find any memorable contemporary references in That Girl, maybe
because she turned 30 while making that show.
I remember a group on Gomer Pyle once.
You can't get Batman except on bootleg, I wonder if anyone has opinions
on the quality of those.
Yep....the song he sings on The Brady Brunch gets stuck in my head
every so often. "Girl....look what you've done to me. Me, and my
whole world..."
Peach
> There's an episode where Serena sings a hippy song or two.
and she plays one kickass painted guitar.
Speaking of which, this weekend I coincidentally saw Liz Montgomery
and the Larry Tate dude costar on an episode of The Untouchables
(1960) and they kissed on the lips! So wrong! Liz was full on
brunette, prancing like Serena (without the accent, tho) in a cute cat
outfit...

They're so-so. I've seen them at "swap meets" and flea markets.
Picture a VHS recording off cable, then dubbed over once again. So the
contract/brightness/color suffers from a dual pass dub and the edges
get a little blurry, too. But whatcha gonna do until they finally
release it?
I remember converting all three Indiana Jones LaserDiscs over to DVD
back in 2002? 2003? Primo chapter markers, no annoying video tearing
at the bottom like a lot of hobbyboys STILL let pass. No cheesy main
menu, too. It was notorious cool for a little over a year until the
official releases finally came out. (And no, I absolutely didn't
peddle them!)
So sometimes you got to just go for it if you are jonesing bad enough.
Just shop around and hit the right sites to make sure official
releases aren't forthcoming...
"What ?"
"A CHAIR !"
Anybody remember the Get Smart episode where the dude from
"F-Troop" was the "Groovy Guru" and he planned to poison
the minds of youngsters with the music of "The Sacred Cows" ?
"Max and 99 meet The Sacred Cows !"

I could watch Barbara Feldon dance all day long !
tony .
(OOPS !!! I'm sorry REO !!! That's all over, right ?)
They all died within a few years of each other too.
Larry Tate's son died in one of the exploded jets in the late 80s,
Lockerbee one I think. He died not long after that near 1990, can't
recall if it was natural or not.
Liz Montgomery died within about a year of one of the Darrens in the
early 90s.
I don't know about your part of the world, but if they show these old
shows on TV now, they have to cut something out to fill in them into 30
minutes because more ads and other breaks are included nowadays.
They actually cut out a song from The Monkees here on tv. The shows
are much better in authentic NTSC than PAL too.
another episode of The Flintstones featured "The Beau Brummelstones".
They did one of their hits, either "Laugh, Laugh" or "Just A Little".
Yeah, that's the one I remember the most. Thanks for reminding
me.
Jeff
Dick Sargent, Agnes Moorehead, Paul Lynde. Notice a pattern?
> Dick Sargent, Agnes Moorehead, Paul Lynde. Notice a pattern?
Yup. Famous people die, just like the rest of us.
and they also go to the bathroom, just like the rest of us.
That reminds me...
With the 20 year run of Gunsmoke, I don't recall any mention
of needing to use the bathroom. When James Arness said
"hold it right there".....he meant it.

I'd ask for a 24 hour guarantee so you can check the quality. It would
be quite a task to rip so many DVDs in a day's time- maybe the seller
would grant you that...

I've noticed a new TV syndication trick now - the end credits now go
to a tiny screen on the left while the new show intro plays along on
the right side. If you're trying to fetch a guest star name off a
show, it's gets pretty tough when the picture gets reduced so much.
---
Discovered this "musical guest appearance" yesterday (although not a
qualifier following the topic of this thread):
1956 "The Ten Commandments" motion picture - playing drums on Mt.
Sinai: Herb Alpert!
Herb plays drums? When did he start playing?
Dunno.
I'd been bingeing on Edward G. Robinson flicks and was curious as to
who else was in TTC. I only saw it over at www.imdb.com (click on "see
more" at the bottom of "cast"), so I don't know if Herb's playing
conga style or if he's using some kind of crazy J shaped stick or some
kind of beater / mallet and I don't know exactly where in the flick he
appears. He was 20-21 years old at the time.
To take one more left turn from the topic (sorry):
I was joking with a friend of mine how EVERYONE in those 30s flicks
smokes. Everyone's smoking all the time. I mean even "mugs" recovering
in the hospital after taking a bullet from a "rod" can have a
cigarette as they on their hospital bed. And the matches get tossed
anywhere. Even a gangster hoofing with his moll on the dance floor
will have a full length cigarette in his kisser or in his mitt near
her hair when he's holding her up close.
Favorite line from The Ten Commandments (Edward G. w cigar):
"So where's your Nessiah now? Why don't you fade into the Red Ses,
see?"
