With Richard Marx and the All Starr Band urging him to continue, Ringo
did the second to last song, "Act Naturally", without a drummer; and
an unidentified stage hand played drums for the final song, "With a
Little Help From My Friends".
It was an excellent concert, with the crowd staying and on its feet
despite torrrential rain and lightning. Regardless, Ringo apparently
felt uncomfortable going ahead with an encore without Sheila. That
part was a little hard to understand, since they could have continued
without a drummer, since the stage hand's performance was more than
sufficient, and since Ringo is a uh ... drummer.
Still, the last time I had seats this good for a concert, a stage hand
fell to his death during an intermission at a David Bowie show in
Miami. Hopefully Sheila E will be fare better and be back on her feet
with some Gatorade.
Maybe she has a heavy flow this month and was in a bad mood. I don't
know if Gatorade helps that kind of thing.

The reason I mentioned Gatorade is that when Ringo brought up her
leaving, and asked when she was coming back, he specifically mentioned
something to the effect of it being warm (apparently he meant cool)
under the rain, but "300 degrees" on stage.
