8. Dr. Seuss ($15 million)
9. Albert Einstein ($10 million)
10. Michael Crichton ($9 million)
11. Jimi Hendrix ($8 million)
12. Aaron Spelling ($8 million)
13. Andy Warhol ($6 million).
The magazine also notes that many of these dead celebs make more money
each year than living stars like Britney Spears ($35 million) and Bon
Jovi ($50 million).
Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and Steve McQueen, who have appeared in the
top 13 slots previous years, dropped off the list in 2009.
Gross earnings are estimated each year by talking to agents, lawyers
and others from the celebrity's estate to determine the sum before
taxes and other fees are applied.

Yes, I don't know unless his works are copyrighted/patented, etc. Just
did a quick Google on his estate, and that may be the reason.

The Forbes site was a bugger to navigate. Automatic slide show, and
my PC kept freezing up so I couldn't scroll down.
Einstein's name/image is copyrighted, then.

I think both Rogers and Hammerstein and Yves St. Laurent had enormous
income last year due to sales/auctions, according to the report.
I wonder if R & H appeared in the top tier in other years. YSL only
died in 2008.
