There was this song that came out in 1979 or 1980 called "Take A Little
Rhythm" which I thought was Paul McCartney or Wings. Only later did I learn
it was some guy named Ali Thompson. This is one of a few examples where I
thought a former Beatle sang it, but did not.

I thought Ringo Starr did "Can't Get It Out Of My Head" the first time I
heard it, and then I found out it was ELO. Jeff Lynne sometimes sounds like
George Harrison, and vice versa. The first time I heard "This Is Love" I
thought it was a duet. The second verse sounds like Jeff Lynne...the part
that goes, "Little things that can change you forever...may appear from way
out of the blue"

I thought John Lennon sang "Don't Ask Me Why" by Billy Joel as a kid. I
don't know why in retrospect, but I was eight at the time.

How about Todd Rungren's "All Smiles" Jeff?
This sounds like Paul on vocals, and George on
guitar. I think the album is called "Deface the music'? Kind of like a
Beatles tune without John.

Klaatu-"Dear Christine"

"The best of the Raspberries"
( not sure of the title)

Well the whole album is a series of deliberate, Rutles-like Beatles
parodies.

Anyone else always think the 70's top 40 hit "I Can Help" sounded just
Ringo singing?

I do. Ever heard the unreleased Ringo tune "One way love affair"? It
should be released.
Great song.

there are two bands that you should check out that are definetly in the style
of the beatles. first off: ocean color scene. if you arnt fromt englnad
chances are you never herd of them. check out the song "the river boat song"
or "40 Past Midnight". and then there is my personal favrite(other then the
ebatles of course. oasis. they made four kick ass rock arecords. quality and
depth. something the beatles had, and so does oasis. "ive forever" and "don't
look back in ager" are some of their best.

Huh???? Is this true? Anyone else hear of it? Seems strange. If
true, was it just some kind of studio goof? Kind of like playing with
the fact that a lot of radio listeners probably thought the hit
version was him in the first place. I did when I was a kid.

In 1987 Ringo was making an album with Chips Morman producing, it was never
released because Ringo sued to stop it because he felt it wasn't very good
as he was on a drinking binge while it was recorded. A few of the songs are
on the Boot "Lost & Found" (Disc 1).
