"I don't think I'm good enough" to play with Miles Davis? I don't know. Bitches' Brew is interesting, but I don't hear any mind-blowing playing on it. Clapton & Miles Davis would have made an interesting collaboration as long as they weren't smack-addled.

He was with Derek & the Dominoes who had been formed a few months earlier, and also released a solo album that year featuring "After Midnight." He was also touring with Joe Cocker and Leon Russell on the "Mad Dogs And Englishmen" tour.
