For many, many years, people believed Marek Girsch committed suicide.
His abrupt lack of presence on RMB led to great speculations. There is
no coincidence that "Marek" left RMB and "w" began his harassment of
alt. music.led-zeppelin in approximately the same time.
As a long time Jethro Tull fan, we have known "w" as the Supreme
Asshole, he would make Girsch look like a candystriper. Two perfectly
functioning newsgroups were completely wiped out by "w"

From my personal experience with Girsch, he generally
posts with screen names other than Marek Girsch. I only
know of his name from other posters, and sometimes
a weird poster acknowledges being Girsch. My gut feeling
is Marek Girsch is a real person, a computer hacker,
hired by the FBI to act as the Thought Police on this
newsgroup to basically create "white noise" as needed,
thereby preventing too much many exchanges of information.
Girsch's objective is to stifle intelligent exchanges on this
newsgroup. Now if we stick to discussing Paul's favorite
flavor ice cream, there's no problem. But the minute we
start discussing things of a controversial nature, then
Girsch shows up.
Other posters have suggested Girsch has scores of screen
names, perhaps hundreds. He and a few others get busy
posting lots of nonsense when people like me post too
many facts about John Lennon's death or corruption
within the music industry.
The Girsch-like creatures are often phantoms, posting messages
that are invisible to Google. Consequently, unless people
quote Girsch when responding, Girsch's messages never make
it to Google's archive. I believe this is done to avoid
legal problems when Girsch threatens people's lives.
Since his posts are not detected by Google, it's difficult
to catch him making such threats. Of course I don't think
the FBI would lift a finger to apprehend him in any case
because the FBI is run by bigger scum than him, and
also because the Feds are probably paying the bastard's
salary, or they're channeling funds to organized crime
cells who in turn pay him. (USA, land of the free :-)
Of course the Bureau might be forced to take action if
someone could catch him making threats.
Again, this is only a gut feeling, but I think Girsch
stumbled badly when he started the stupid rumor that
he had died.
