Sometimes when I'm sad, it helps to listen to a sad song or a blues
song so I can wallow in my misery.
Which Beatles song is the best sad/blues/I wannafeelsorryformyself
song?
It is hard for me to choose just one, but I do have a fondness for Yer
Blues. How much bluer can one get . . . ."Yes, I'm lonely. Wanna
die. Yes, I'm loooonely. Wanna die. If I ain't dead
already . . . ." I also like the way the vocals are done, the change
in rhythm and the guitar work.
Which is your fave Beatles blues song?

I don't choose Beatles music when I'm sad usually, but pick
Hello Goodbye, or Hey Jude.

I think "I'm a Loser" could make sadness into depression. "Don't Let
Me Down" would work for me. Nothing like some very loud Little
Richard or live J. Geils music to rid me of any sadness.

I'm reminded of a line of Beatles greeting cards that were issued in
the 1980s. Some were obvious happy messages ("I Wanna Hold Your Hand"
et al), but there were a few more edgy selections as well. My favorite
one had on the front:
"I'm looking through you."
and when you opened up the card, on the inside it added:
"You're not the same."
I saved that one for awhile but never quite found myself in a
situation worthy of the sheer gut-punch chill of the card's message!

That song can be interpreted as a sad one . . . but when I think of
Your MOther Should Know, I also think of the Beatles doing that silly
dance in Magical Mystery Tour. You know, the one where they trot down
the steps, Paul has a red, the others have black, etc. It looked so
corny. So when I think of Your Mother Should Know, I tend to laugh.

Yes, if one knows the circumstances of John's upbringing that is a sad
one. Plus the way he sings the song, he sounds quite blah.
