My sister is getting married in a few weeks and is putting together a
list of mp3 song versions that can be played during the
ceremony/reception. Most of what she's looking for can be obtained from
itunes but at the top of her list are The Beatles' "In My Life" and "I
Will", and of course they're not on itunes.
If anyone has the Beatles' recorded versions of these songs in mp3
format or knows where I can get them, I'd appreciate it.
Respond here or by e-mail. Thanks!!
Can't you just convert them yourself? I know that I can record a .WAV
file to my computer, and then my audio program (SoundForge) can
convert the .WAV to an .MP3.
If I have a .WAV file, I can *save as* an .MP3 in my program...or a
few other formats.
Dave, my problem is that I don't have any sort of digital versions of
those two songs.
I have the White Album and Rubber Soul on cassette tape and my tape
player/stereo system are poor quality (one of the speakers only works
intermittently). I could probably scrape something together but if I
can get hold of a fairly high-quality mp3, that would be preferable.
Rich...see my private e/mail.
Thanks so much!
To everyone else, I now have what I need.
Try P2P or bit torrent. You can get anything in the damn world.
"itunes"? LMAO!
Thanks, I appreciate it.
A friend of my sister's is actually putting it together and she uses
itunes. Anyway it's been taken care of.
That would have been another possibility but it was solved more simply.
You seem to be surrounded by people who are getting married.
How about you?
Can you download them from youtube and turn it into an mp3?
Rich already got what he wanted.
There should be laws against it.
There *are* copyright laws against it but software exists that can do
it.
If it weren't for the special circumstances involved, I wouldn't have
even asked for mp3s in the first place.
You're probably right although I've never tried this myself.

:-)
Maybe because I tend to piss away my free cash on musical and recording
gear rather than CDs?
My CD "collection" would probably be labeled by most RMB participants as
"pathetic", and my stereo system as worse than pathetic.
I do have most Beatles albums on vinyl but my turntable is busted.
"Poor, poor pitiful me!"
Most of the musicians I know tend to fall under the two extremes, those
who are audiophiles and those who just don't give a crap. I'm kind of
near the latter extreme although I'd love to upgrade my stereo system at
some point. Trouble is, it's way down on the list.
I'm definitely a "crap" guy. A lot of what I listen to was recorded
rather primitively, anyway.

I'm not an audiophile, but I think my ears are tuned well enough to
hear good recording and reproduction quality when I hear it. But as
long as the sound quality doesn't interfere with the music, it's good
enough for me. Pristine sound is an nice bonus but not required, and I
have little interest in spending large dollars chasing it.
Part of my problem is that my hearing is starting to regenerate.
The other problem is that these days I mainly listen to music over the
computer or in the car.
When I'm in the "music room" (where the stereo is), I'm usually
attempting to make music, not listen to it.
"degenerate".
I guess my eyes are starting to go too.
Copyright laws are heinous, dumb, technologically inept.
They weren't what I was referring to. No youtube clip would have sound
good enough to make mp3s from.
Ah but they're still laws. Work to change them! I'll be glad to join
you!

Granted.
Fair enough up to a point, but criminalising something that everyone can
do easily is a bit schizoid. They hung their hat too much on digital
production methods. Yet the harder to copy format such as SACD is
disappearing. I believe they solved more recently how to copy
DVD-Audio, but I would only be copying my own.
