Mojo mag says that Pepper has been cancelled. Apparently it was a box
set with new photos and a badge. Big deal!

Ah! I just can't wait for the stereo release of Pet Sounds! :)

Just FYI it's "typos," not "typo's." You could at least fix THAT one.
No disrespect intended. :-)

That, and the fact that there is no such word as *abovementioned*. :)>
Seems like you'd have all the time in the world to proofread your

"Abovementioned" is a "portmanteau" word (a word combining the sounds and
meanings of two different words, as defined by the _Oxford Dictionary of
Current English_, and is thus valid, if not pompous as hell (he said,
knowing full well he's rather notorious for using such pretentious
language himself :) ).
ObB: Speaking of pretentious:
"The Beatles' transformation of consciousness into content has a clear
parallel in the history of fine art, particularly in the history of
modernistic painting. In painting, a comparable breakthrough was achieved
by Edoward Manet. Manet made the distancing experience of consciousness
the content of his work; he blatantly used the art of the past as his
subject matter rather than allowing it mearly to influence him; he
acknowledged the quality of earlier art, and he recognized that his
personal contribution as a painter could bonly be substantiated if it was
goold; finally he was accused of "putting down" the hisrory of his medium
and of "putting on" the audience of French art. Modernist painting has
directly and indirected explored the implications of Manet's art for more
than a century. This fact should lend caution to bredictions that rock
music will suddenly follow the Beatles' direction." -- Carl Belz, "Rock
and Fine Art," _The Story of Rock_, Oxford University Press, 1969.

__)__) tosa, witzend Why is a raven like a writing-desk?
The "Pet Sounds" treatment is very involved. Kind of like what they did
with "Penny Lane" on Anthology - they "hand synced" the original 4 track
tapes (including mixdown reels) to create a new multitrack master. With
Pet Sounds, the mulitrack layout was -mono music on one track, remaining 7
tracks for vocals. So they hand synced the original 3(or 4) track masters
with the 8 track vocal master. With Pepper, this would be a mammoth job -
involving hand syncing 3, 4, or sometimes 5 reels per song.
And would you sync the scream for "Sgt Pepper" in the "mono" placement or
the 'stereo'? <g>.
The complaints about a remix would outstrip any complaints about
remastering by about 100 to 1....but if they did do it, Furmanek is the
only one I'd trust...
