A friend of mine gave me a link to a website that purports to have a
photo of JL taken at the morgue a few hours after his death. Not
something took look up, but compelling enough to look at. Apparently
it was sold to one of the tabloids, but I had never seen it.

I am pretty sure this may have come up before - but the oddity of the
photo is the area from his right upper right jaw, running to the back
of his head. His right ear and the area running up the right rear of
his head is obscured. To me it looks as if it is a hand holding up his
head (ugh). Anyone know what this is?

Thanks

Is the photo black and white? It sounds like the identical photo the
National Enquirer ran on its front page back in 1980. It's fairly
common and if it's the Enquirer photo, it's authentic.

I assume it's authentic and here's my friends source:

http://www.findadeath.com/Deceased/l/John%20Lennon/lennon.jpg

So what are we looking at, as I mentioned before?

The quality of the original photo was supposed to have been very grainy
and poor. From what I read at the time, the Enquirer enlarged the photo
and airbrushed it, so it looks more like a painting. The thing on the
ear I always assumed was just their airbrushing to make a crummy
quality photo look more "polished."

I *believe* the "thing on the ear" was part of whoever's hand was
holding his head up. A thumb, perhaps.

That's what I thought, the thumb and the palm side look pretty obvious.

Did Yoko put that photo in one of the videos she ran shortly after
Lennon's death?

Yeah. "Woman".

It was also on the cover of the Post.

The last photo session with Annie Lebowitz ( I hope I spelled her last name
correct), was printed in Rollingstone magazine. After John was murdered some
one wrote a letter to Rollingstone that one picture with John sitting in a
chair and reading a book beneath a hanging plant had an image of Jesus.

I went back thru that issue prepared to squint my eyes and stare at that
picture to try and see the image. I still get the shivers when I remember
turning the page and immediately seeing an image formed in the plant's
leaves of Jesus sorrowfully looking down at John Lennon!

I am usually skeptical of these images, but considering what happened I hope
this means John is happy in Heaven.

BibsBro

Does anyone else remember that picture?

This whole thing is pretty darn macabre. For some reason though when I saw
the picture I didn't see Lennon. I stared at the photo and couldn't see
Lennon.

Since Jesus' "image" was made-up years ago by artists, it doesn't mean
anything.

It breaks my heart when people try to find religion in objects such as
pictures or weeping statues. Read the Bible; that's where you'll find God.

Why would there be a need to open the skull (ugh!) in a case such as
this? He was shot in the chest and back. I think the manner and cause
of death would be pretty clear without disturbing the poor man's head.

Has anyone here seen the autoposy report?

Thanks Abby, and good point about the image crated by artists. I had been
wondering about what Jesus really looked like only a few days ago.

I saw that picture on a Discovery Channel special, which was interesting. I
had always been taught that Jesus didn't look anything like the pictures we
see.
According to the Bible, he was not attractive in human form - had he been,
he probably would've had more followers. But Jesus was only here for a short
time and he attracted followers through faith, just as he does today.

Point well taken. When my best pal, and grandfather died when I was
six, I was dragged to the funeral home for "the viewing"

I wouldn't even go into the room. That corpse was not by granddad,
just the physical plant he occupied on this earth. To this day, I
don't do those kinds of things, nor funerals.

You would think that the son of God would be one of the most attractive men
on the planet. Instead there is a fine between him looking either like a bum
or someone you can give $100 and get $10,000 back. But what this has to do
with what Lennon looked like dead I don't know.

I wonder why nobody's eyes look the same?
One eye always looks like it's smaller than the other, and one eye is
staring off in a different direction.

The guy (whose thumb's in the pic) probably still has to talk about
that moment all the damn time, too. And I doubt very much that he's
proud or happy about his moment in "Beatles history".

That's closely tied to my motivation to keep on living.
There's a certain smug satisfaction I'll obtain from knowing if I live
long enough:
_Fewer of my less savory acquaintances should be around_

Or, "Say what you want about me now, but you better plan on outliving me."

Too, regarding what else? Most likely, nobody knows..or much cares about
who's thumb is in that picture? What do you find interesting about it?
If you knew the name of the person, you probably wouldn't know who
he/she is..anyhow..so why would you or anyone..for that matter even
care? I sure don't.

What He would look like on Earth:
Isaiah 53
2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.

What He will look like in heaven:
Revelation 1
14His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his
eyes were like blazing fire. 15His feet were like bronze glowing in a
furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. 16In his
right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp
double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its
brilliance.

Why would his brain be removed, since he was shot in the back..and not
his head?

I've read before that John Lennon was a big proponent of "The Sugar Blues," which is about the supposed harmfulness of sugar & the desirability of sugar-free lifestyles. But it's funny, because John was known to love Hershey bars, chocolate cake, and apple pie. If I were him, I'd have been more concerned about the cigarettes and cocaine.
