Hi all,

I've posted these anagrams of Beatles song titles a while ago in
alt.anagrams already, and the regulars weren't too impressed. But I
thought Beatles fans might appreciate them nevertheless.

I'm also aware that anagrams aren't for everyone. If I point out, for
example, that using the same set of letters you can either spell "I got
a woman" or "Now I'm a goat", your reactions will probably be anywhere
between "hilarious"/"fascinating" and "how irrelevant"/"what a waste of
time". If the latter, my apologies, and you don't need to read any further.

Others have made anagrams of Beatles songs before, including Mike
Hatton, who posted this list of 20 songs as a part of his anagram quiz
series: http://www.pyramus.demon.co.uk/quiz003a.htm (I like "From me to
you" = "Out of memory" in particular.)

Feeling more ambitious, I made anagrams of the titles of every song and
album that the Beatles ever recorded. That was a long list and took some
time, even with the help of special software (Anagram Artist), and some
anagarms turned out, erm, less remarkable than others. Anyway,
highlights include:

Magical mystery tour = My car stole my guitar
I should have known better = When vodka, then is trouble
You've really got a hold on me = Oh tree, you move all day long
Shake, rattle and roll = Hear ten dollars talk

The complete list is at http://wnoeker.de/beatlegrams1.htm

Have fun (I hope)
Wilhelm

Very fun - some of these are hysterical. Two that stuck with me from
the list:

I Get Blown (Not.)
Why No Fruit Mixes?

I'm trying to guess what those two are. No, don't tell me, it makes a
good quiz...

2nd one's the easiest -- how many song titles have an 'x' in them?

Maxwell's Silver Hammer
Taxman
Fixing A Hole
Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me And My Monkey
Sexy Sadie
Matchbox

Six. So this is a non-canonical song then. No, don't tell me...

My song title list has that as a numerical 64.

Make it seven then.

Thanks, and thanks to Abe Slaney as well. Glad to see that at least some
of you enjoyed them.
