John is not buried anywhere--a wise decision by Yoko bearing in mind the
desecration done to gravesites of famous people. Jim Morrison comes to mind.
John was cremated on December 10, 1980. Only family and close friends know the
location of his ashes. Rumors include Central Park, the East River, and
somewhere in England. (A little George reference there :-)). Yoko kept
John's remains in their Dakota apartment for a *short* time after his death.

I'm sure you did read that , just as others read the ashes are in New York
Harbor, and others that they're in Central Park. Remember when Eric Clapton
got married to Patti? Instead of trying to keep it a secret, he fooled the
media with their own game. He *did* notify them of his impending marriage,
but gave each the name of a different church or synagogue--then had the
ceremony in a house of worship that wasn't on any list! I believe (just my
opinion) that this is what Yoko did--have several rumors spread as to the
whereabouts of John's remains. That way, even if the truth did come out, it
would be just one of many rumors.
IMHO, Yoko would NEVER have given them to Aunt Mimi.
