I heard quite a while ago that Ritter collected Beatles memorabilia in doubles.
His wife must have some job ahead of her.

The poster of the Beatles that hung over Jack Tripper's bed was John Ritter's.

I believe John Ritter played Ringo's manager in Ringo's TV special
from around 1978 (the one with Ognir Rats).

When he was on Letterman or Kilbourn a while back he was wearing a Lennon tie.

Ritter met Lennon once. He told the story on a chat show (Dinah?) in the
'70s about how a buddy had snuck him into the studio upon hearing a rumour
that Lennon was there. He described sneaking into the control booth and
looking into the studio and seeing Mick Jagger, Jack Bruce, Billy Preston,
and Jim Keltner but no Lennon. He then noticed a fellow sitting in the booth
smacking chewing gum staring right at him. Three guesses who that was! At
the time of that interview I sort of thought Ritter might have been
fabricating the story as the scenario seemed unlikely. A few years later I
learned of the "Too Many Cooks" session and realized he was telling what was
basically a true story.

I was saddened by his death. I have always enjoyed his work, and was aware
that he was "one of us". Did anybody catch the Beatles picture in his
bedroom on the Three's Company set? I'm sure it was his personal touch.
