On 'Let It Be', just before "Get Back", who is it that's saying
"Sweet Loretta Martin thought she was a cleaner, but she was a
frying pan!" ?!?

Pierre

PS: I just bought my Beatles Box Set (on CDs). What a nice Christmas
gift I gave myself!!! Yeah. Joyeux Noel a tous!

Could that be any other than Mr. Lennon himself!

As posted previously, this was by John; however, the line actually
is "Sweet Loretta Fart she thought she was a cleaner..." (some good
Beatle trivia).

I read this in the book "The Beatles: Recording Sessions" which is
a fabulous book, by the way, for you Beatle fans (I just discovered
this group, and hadn't yet seen this book mentioned). It's just
loaded with trivia.

Yes, It's MUST reading for any Beatle addict. Just as impressive is Lewisohn's
other book "The Beatles LIVE". Just flipping through the pages is mindboggling
to see how often they were performing in those early years.

Is this pretty much an r.m.b. consensus on this "...LIVE" book? I'll
pick it up this week if it's as well-written as the his RECORDING
SESSIONS book.

The "LIVE!" book is wonderful, but unfortunately, it's out of print. I have
been looking for a copy for about 6 months now.

I don't consider the "writing" in "LIVE" to be the best reason to
purchase the book. The research Lewisohn did was unprecedented.

The book includes lists of songs The Beatles played during their performances,
broken down by year. It is very interesting to see how the variety of songs
played live dwindled as their recorded repertoire increased.

Also lots of press clippings and ads are included.

This book marked the first accurate research into the date John and Paul met.

Also included is a flexi disk of the first known "radio" interview given
by the boys. Nothing earth-shattering, but of historical interest.

I believe the book is out of print, but if you can find a copy... BUY IT!
