in that he has a knack for getting that clutch hit. The interesting
thing about this Yankee team is that while they spent a lot of money
on getting CC, AJ, and Teixeira, they were able to put together a
bullpen and bench on the cheap. I didn't think their pen could hold up
for an entire postseason, but they shut me up.
If I were the Yankees, I would see if I could get Matsui to come back
at a reduced rate (I doubt he'd do that). I'm guessing they would move
Gardner to Matsui's spot if he were to leave, right? Or do they have a
prospect ready to come in?
I am getting joy out of seeing these fake Red Sox fans bitching and
moaning about the Yankees winning another title. Nothing I hate more
than fake fans, esp front runners.

Bullpens are so unstable. One year you could have the best bullpen in
the league, yet bring back the same pen next year and it implodes.
It's why I would never overpay for a reliever, unless it was someone

It's going to be weird not seeing those 4 in pinstripes when they
retire. Jeter and Mariano are no doubt HOFers, and Posada and Andy
will both get in at some point. I'm a big Jeter and Mariano fan. Those
guys play the game the right way.

'04 WS. I sometimes go to Red Sox-Rangers games down here and it's
sickening seeing all of those fake Red Sox fans wearing their caps and
Ortiz jerseys. Believe it or not, for some odd reason, a lot of Ranger
fans loathe the Yankees and consider them "rivals". They even have
"beat the Yankees" nights at the Ballpark. It's stupid, but I guess
the Rangers know the Yankees are a big draw. Hell, I remember going
out to old Arlington Stadium and watching Donny baseball, et al in
the mid to late 80s when there wasn't a Yankees fan within miles.

Not to mention they 'roided their way to titles. I love the Red Sox-
Yankees rivalry. It's great for the game, and the games are usually a
lot of fun. I was hoping for another Yankees-Red Sox ALCS, but Boston
couldn't hold their end of the bargain.

And they had one of the most overrated QBs of all time in Joe Namath.
While he's a very good QB, he was nowhere near what Jet fans, and a
lot of "experts" claim. I believe he's had almost, if not more, as
many interceptions than TDs.

strictly from a player standpoint, I don't think he was that great.
Granted, I didn't see him play, but looking at his stats and seeing
video/film of him, I see a good QB, but not a Hall of Famer. I'm not
anti-Namath, I simply don't think he was all that.
