Here's one for ya:

In the late 80's, there was a movie called "The decline of western
civilization part two-the metal years". It is kind of a documentary of
heavy metal music during that time. Many bands are interviewed, Kiss,
Aerosmith, Wasp, etc...

Alice Cooper starts to talk about other acts/people that he feels
"ripped him off". He says, "I don't want to name names, but his
initials are..." and then they kinda cut him off.

I always wondered who it was that he mentioned. It could quite possibly
be G.S.
Any insights?

I dont know for sure, but I know that he had bad feelings for Blackie of
W.A.S.P.(maybe the meaning of his statement "the initials are"..) .

He stated in a number of articles that he found quotes from Blackie that
were ripped off from Alice interviews of old.

I've often wondered while watching my copy of the old KISS interview on
ABC's 20/20 from the 70's
(I'm sure you have a copy or seen it) near the end as they exit the
dressing room and each member makes a remark to the camera as they go on
stage. I think it's Paul who say's "I wanna dance, I wanna sing. I WANNA BE
SOMEBODY, whooa". If a young Blackie watching at home like all KISS fans,
was given inspiration to write the song of the same title.

I was under the impression that maybe it was King Diamond. Geez, I am
going to have to pull out some of my Cooper albums and give them a spin,
it's been too long. Not to start an unwanted thread (like the Triumph),
but are most fans into Alice as well? I love most of his stuff, though
the newer material is kind of hard to digest.

If I'm not mistaken, he says W.A.S.P.

Hell yeah, Alice is great. Just saw him last week with Scorpions. He
put on a cool show. I can't wait for his new album.

Alice has had a thing against Blackie Lawless of W.A.S.P. for quite some
time. (and with good reason, the guy's gone so far as to use old Alice
quotes in interviews)

As of a few years ago (that's when I read the interview), he had no
problems with KISS, mainly because at the beginning they openly admitted
being inspired by him. Along the lines of "we figured in one guy in
make-up could do it, imagine what *four* could accomplish."

Alice is great. W.A.S.P. is okay. But Truimph just plain sucks!
Kiss was influenced by Alice (and vice versa). W.A.S.P. was heavily
influenced by Kiss. Who was Triumph influenced by? ABBA!

First you complained about the Triumph post, and now you cannot open
your mouth without saying "Triumph".

I said it before and I'll say it again, you're just a young, stupid

I always thought it was Lizzy Borden. If you watch close Alices lips it looks like he is saying L.B. Not that I know of any reason why Alice would trash Lizzy, He
seemed to be paying tribute to Alice more than ripping him off. But Lizzy is in the same movie and with all the regretable quotes from differnt artist throughout the
whole film the only reason I could see for the director to censor the quote would be to protect Lizzy.

I don't see how Alice was, or could ever be influenced by Kiss. Also,
WASP was more influenced by Alice than by Kiss.

Yeah, Alice was doing it before Kiss, but maybe as Kiss came along, he
drew a little inspiration from them. Who knows. Unfortunately, I was
too young to have seen the original Alice Cooper band, who put out AMAZING
albums and were true originals live. Sorry to take up space and not
discuss important Kiss information, but since there is a Kiss reference,
hopefully that will make it alright.

Alice was great.
WASP sucks.
KISS probably was more influenced by Alice
Rik Emmett has more pure guitar talent than anyone ever associated
with KISS, Alice, or WASP, all put together.

I guess that would make him the Eric Carr of guitar.

I agree. Although Alice was first and is great, Kiss was (and is) magnitudes
more successful and entertaining. Alice Cooper knew this.

BTW, for all you Triumph fans: Alice Cooper is great. Kiss is greater. Triumph
is not real rock-n-roll. I don't care about bandwidth or your net-cop B.S.,

This is an informal discussion group about KISS and (read this part real

If it's theatrics you're talking about, then I would definately put Alice

successful, Kiss is more successful now, but Alice had quite a huge

I didnt insult anyone, I merely said take your none Kiss discussion to

designated band which is Kiss; If YOU have a big problem sticking to

You do not own this newsgroup, so your "wants" are not paramount to
everyone else's.

"Elsegroup??" I take it English was not your major in college. You
should practice what you preach. I have seen several posts from you
that were not related to KISS. You have insulted plenty of people as
well (including me) in other posts, and you implied an insult by
calling the Scorpions "the Dorkians", implying that the person who
likes them must be a dork.

The original question was about KISS (did AC have a beef with Gene? that
sounds pretty related to me).
Once you've been on the 'net a few months, you'll realize that just like
in life, discussions sometimes wander.
Trying to be NetCop over everyone just torques them off and encourages it.
Grow up, don't read it if you don't want to, and accept it.

Thank you for elucidating my position as well. I get real tired of people

described: discussions wander sometimes. People are too concerned with
what 'should be' and they never pay any attention to what 'is.'

You don't want to hear it??? Did you start this newsgroup?? Who are

You continue to say that I have made none Kiss posts in the past, but so
far you have produced nothing more than talk..
Elsegroup is a MUD (Multi User Dimensions) term for another group,
nevertheless, there is nothing anymore wrong with my english than there
is with anyone elses, so much for accusations..
But you still have yet to bring any proof that I posted on other topics
unrelated to Kiss

See the thread entitled 'Kiss/Year 2000' where you are talking about space
aliens or something.

Fine, I'll drop it so long as he agrees to stop verbally assaulting people
for taking part in discussions that naturally wander over time.

I can't countenance people telling me what to do when they don't practice
what they preach, though.

I started the original Alice Cooper thread. Any "damage" I did to the
integrity of
this newsgroup has been far outdone by your petty whining. This thread
has gone on
for quite a while, despite the fact that my question has been long
answered.

You, in your self-righteous attempts to be NetCop, have perpetuated this
thread.
It is YOU who should go elsewhere to continue this. Perhaps
alt.whiners.incorporated
or alt.discussions.regarding.the.zen.of.newsgroup.discussion.

And by the way, when I read newsgroups, I mark "read" any headers that
don't seem interesting. If I see "Mariah Carey" in the subject, I just
mark it "read" and it's
out of my life forever! No need to get all upset!

You are the moron talking about space aliens in the 'Kiss/Year 2000'
