Ouch. $120. How many discs was this box set? What was on it?
I went to Vinnie's website to take a look and find out more... but
there's way too much stuff to load and it's really slow.

We've seen other posts here about Vinnie stuff <records and such> so
yes, this was good place to post your inquiry. Somebody around here
should know something about it. I honestly don't think that Vinnie is
in business to intentionally rip people off <although Doug Cataldo
might differ on that opinion>, but I'm not gonna hold my breath while
you wait for your box set.

Good luck and I hope you don't get ripped off.

can anyone explain the reasoning as to why this rumored for years box set is
only going to be available on tape???? And why it would cost $120.....
hard to believe that anyone would even consider shelling out that much cash for
something on cassettes......
CD's are as cheap if not cheaper to produce than cassettes these days.....it
just doesn't make sense.

I was assuming that someone was making them in a garage somewhere.

That was my guess, too. Duplicating them in a small studio or what
not. Hope they don't come complete with the handwritten Maxell
J-cards.

No were making them out in the stable. We couldn´t get wire that
fitted the two cassette decks. So we just put a "mike" in front of
the speaker. And It got a real LIVE wibe.

So were probably ready for shipping before X-mas. Vinnie just wants to
record some acoustic songs first. Like KISS did on unplugged.
He is not very satisfied with the versions on unplugged. So he wants
his own versions. You know Fleischman can get some higher notes than
Paul. So this is tape no.45. On tape no.44 Vinnie reveals his own
recipy for INVASION TACOS, amazing stuff.

So get ready for X-mas. You know Vinnie is just like santa.
If you belive in him, he is still the greatest.

But I have to go now. Kman cant find the power button on the
cassette deck. So I have to help him. Kman and Vinnie have tried
to find it for a couple of months now. Thats the reason why
we are so delayed.

WERE SO SORRY!

Until X-mas. Have a jolly year!

Why not. Vinnie said to me and Kman that it made them
more collectible. We are also making Vinnie dolls. They
are also amazing with two personalities and with three
differnt wigs.

So X-mas is coming soon boys and girls

If it's been a year, then it's time for legal action. Call a lawyer and
ask how much they'd charge just to send someone a threat of a lawsuit on
the law firm's letterhead. Most lawyers will do this for about $25 and
it does the trick more often than you'd think. Most people that rip off
people through the mail don't realize that not only can they be sued,
but that it can lead to criminal charges. You just have to jiggle their
heads once in a while to remind them. :O)

She should do exactly what I suggested. Unless she was told at the time
of ordering that it could be a year or more before the product was
delivered. She has every right to cancel her order if the product won't
b delivered in a timely fashion, which is what she said she wanted at
this point.

Bullshit. I hate to say this, and I know that every VV fan on here will
probably assault me for saying so, but the only reason you are defending Vincent is
because you are a raving mad fan. If he had killed someone, you'd say it was a
misunderstanding and no one has the right to criticize him. I have yet to meet
a VV fan online who didn't act like that. It's an attitude that's almost as
childish and immature as Mr. Vincent himself acts at times.
Fact is, there wasn't an advance order - there was an order for something
that was supposed to arrive by the end of the year, and now, almost 1.5 years
later, there is no product, no response from producers, and no visible desire
to refund the money received. A lawsuit *is* in order, and if you'd stop your
bitching and tkae off your rose-colored glasses, you'd see the truth.
I went to the site when I first heard about the Guitarmaggeddon/Boxed Set,
and wanted to order a copy. But, now that I know it was basically a rip-oof con-job,
I'm glad I didn't - I'd be out 120 bucks right now.

Yeah, 200 big ones for five CDs of unreleased versions of RARAN. I know
this sounds cynical and jaded, but I have my doubts that they'll do anything else.

Yes, I did get an e-mail from you -- thanks again! However, the problem was
that when I advance ordered it, it was supposed to arrive in a few months
according to the one confirmation notice I got. After that (over a year ago), I
received no updates personally, but when I'd visit the web site I'd sometimes
see updates saying the box was being pushed back yet again. But beyond the ONE
personal update I received over a year ago, I've had no contact with the
company and they ignored a letter I sent months ago.

I just want my money back at this point. I'll write them by snail mail again
and ask for a refund. I'm sure I'll be ignored...J.C.>>

Well I don`t know why you haven`t receive updates...just about everyone else
has. You will get your box set when it comes out. When you ADVANCE order
something...you always run the risk of delays. I had advance ordered a
computer game...and its been over a year. But they have kept me updated too.

I think the young lady has a right to cry "foul" concerning her order
of the VV box set. It's been along time.

KISSTORY was a ripoff, too. No doubt Gene Simmons put the price tag on
that book. I read that he initially wanted $200 a seat for *every*
seat in the house for the reunion tour. Jesus.

Polygram will have a major say in that one so it will probably be in
line with other box set offerings. Unless they do it out of their
garage like Vinnie's.

Yes it has..but NOW instead of the 4 hour box set she was supposed to get she
will be getting 10 HOURS!!

Well I think he COULD have put at least the first 5 rows on sale for that
much. Anything else and there would have been ALOT of empty seats

the difference is it has been so long that she does not want it and wants
her money back. She has a perfectly legit reason for it. Wether or not it
is an Advance order or not, there is something called a resonable amount of
time.

Exactly. It's called "in a timely manner" and she'll win in small
claims. She should also comlain to her state's attorney general. That
way, after a few complaints, the state can invstigate why it hasn't been
shipped in a timely manner. :)
