Do you agree?
Hey pal.... not even fzcking close. Put down the crack pipe.
Agreed, he's not even this generations Van Morrison...
I'm a diehard PJ fan, and that thought has never crossed my mind.
Besides, Eddie never needed drugs, alcohol and recklessness to hide
behind.
Yep, his dorkyness is right there for everybody to see :)
Ooooohh, that was a cheap shot... I always wondered why that guy doesn't get
respect... Any thoughts? I never dug them... I'd put Brett Michaels WAY up
higher on the list...
John Densmore would like him to be.
Last year, he said he would reunite with the Doors only if someone of
Vedder's caliber were the singer.
=====
"I'm not gonna join them with Ian. That's not to diss Ian, he's a good
singer - but he's no Jim Morrison. Eddie Vedder? My God, there's a
singer."
- John Densmore ('07)
I thought the guy from Creed was doing some stuff with the Doors.
BTW, who played bass for them?
*I'm a Jim Morrison fan and NO Eddie is not anywhere close to Morrison.
I hated the doors. Vedder's worse though.
You know as much about good music as you do about being straight.
In other words, absolutely nothing.
You know as much about good music as you do about being straight.

Yeah... agreed. And a great frontman...He is what he is.
What was his problem with Asterbury??? THAT guy IS the new Jim Morrison...
Did they ever record? Any known boots?? To me, that was a marraige made in
heaven.

Well, let's face it... All that's needed is for him to go out and sing the
songs... You need 'the voice'... Just like Journey with that Asian guy...
(even though he's recording with them).

I don't agree with that with regards to Queen. I didn't like 'Return of the
Champions' at all.... Many bands have done what you've said... I'm sure we
could both name 30... But, for an older band (a 60's band).... who wouldn't
want to hear those classic tracks with a voice close to the original?

Good example...Dio was 'fresh' for Sabbath... and they were only 10 years
into their career... The Doors.... they've been dormant for *quite* a while
:)
Check out Vedder with the Doors in '92 when they were inducted into
the HOF...great stuff.
Correct...Vedder is much better!
Scott Weiland? Seriously? He could play the role of Jim Morrison's
lifestyle pretty well, but singing? Not! Bach with the Doors? That
wasn't a serious was it?

Amen brother.

Paul Rodgers voice was cracking in the early 70's when he was singing 'All
Right Now' :)
I felt they chose many 'lower register' songs for that outing, and if it
called for a high part, either somebody else did it, or he sang it lower.
I mean, the argument can be made both ways..... "he's making it his own/I
want to hear a clone" etc..... True, Freddie was an icon, but, it's a
shame that great arena stuff like that isn't being sung... while they sing
'All right Now' :)

If you don't care about the legacy material... Then, you're not a Queen fan,
and it's silly of you to comment.... We're not talking about finding a
replacement for the singer of 'Danger Kitty'.... These are iconic songs!

That must have been a cool tour!! I saw 'Hot Space'...
I don't mind Rodgers either, but, he wouldn't be my first choice.. That's
all I'm saying...
As for Kiss... Slightly different - they were marketed as 'characters'...
AS for Johnson... I can't freakin' stand the guy, and with the exception of
Back in Black (which I suspect Scott actually wrote) he's done NOTHING for
me.
*Blasphemy. ;-)
*Lucifer, Satan, Devil?
I hope everyone was able to watch Pearl Jam simply bring the house
down at the Who's Rock Honors tonight. Performances like that is why
people like Densmore want Eddie Vedder to sing in their band.
This is Kiss NG thanks. I was hoping you meant they actually DID bring
the house down. Too bad.
I like Back in Black... Not much after... To me, Scott was SUCH a good
frontman..
Wow, first you quote C. Love and now Wesley? The walls are caving in!
