I've heard Ace didn't play on all of them. And the solo in Larger than life
does not sound like him to me. Not do the drums of ROcket Ride sound like
Peter. Does anyone know who played what on which songs???

Bob Kulick played lead for all the songs on side 4. But if I'm not
mistaken, Peter did play on all those cuts.
I think side 4 of Alive II is some of their best studio work! Larger Than
Life and Rocket Ride are two of my favorite songs.

You're mistaken. Ace did show up for Rocket Ride, ya see it was his tune....
Paul did Anyway You Want It and Bob did the rest. Rick Deringer also allegedly
contributed. And yes, the drums are Peter...

Here's the ALIVE II Studio cuts lineup based on a reliable source:

Peter Criss - Drums
Rick Derringer - Lead and rhythm guitar on "All American Man"
Ace Frehley - All guitars/bass/lead vocals on "Rocket Ride"
Bob Kulick - Lead & rhythm guitar on "Rockin' in the USA" &
"Larger Than Life"
Gene Simmons - Bass/rhythm guitar & lead vocals on
"Larger Than Life"
Paul Stanley - All guitars/vocals on "Any Way You Want It"

Hope this helps...

Take it easy,

Keith.

Anton Fig from Ace's solo album and David Letterman played drums for at
least a few of the tracks, but I haven't listened to the album in so long
so I can't tell you how many. Listen to the drumming on "Rocket Ride",
the big drum fill at the end of the song is a little out of Peter's reach.

It just can't be Peter on "Larger Than Life". It is just impossible. He
never played like John Bonham before, and has not done it ever since. It
MUST be a another drummer. Anton Fig? The drums on the rest of the
tracks sound like Peter though.

Bob Kulick,Bruce's older brother played on all the studio tracks on ALIVE
II except
"Rocket Ride".Ace ripped on that one.As far as drums tracks,I have never
heard of
another drummer. If so,I would think of Anton Fig.He played on Ace's solo
albums,
Dynasty and Unmasked.

With the new CD on the way, does anybody know when Kiss plans to hit the road
again? I saw them in three different cities on the last tour, and I'm rarin'
to duplicate that feat this time around!

The drums on Rocket Ride sounds like Peter to me (listen to the snare
drum especially), but the drums on Larger than Life doesn't.

Learn YOUR trivia bud, Bob K (not "C") Kulick played on the 4th side
of Alive 2 but he was not the only one Rick Derringer also was on side 4.

The Letterman remark is obviously a joke. Larry Bud Melman played bass on
Alive II

Rick Derringer DOES NOT PLAY ON ALIVE 2.
Bob Kulick is on the 4 tracks, Ace is on Rocket Ride.

Rick Derringer IS on Exciter, off Lick It Up.

According to Dale Sherman's Black Diamond, page 97, second edition,
"In his [Ace's] place in the studio was the reliable Bob Kulick on
"Larger Than Life" and "Rocking' In The USA", while Rick Derringer
played lead guitar on "All American Man."

So, I guess now we have to ask Dale if this is true or not.

I mentioned this privately in an e-mail to Curveboy, but I'll mention it
here as well since you asked my opinion. In nearly (and I do mean nearly)
every interview I have ever read with Bob Kulick about his work on ALIVE
II, he states he worked on "some" of the tracks. It was also mentioned by
Gene and Ace in previous interviews that Rick Derringer came in to record
on the album as well.

I do have an interview around here somewhere with Derringer where he states
he worked on "All American Man" for the album, but I'll have to hunt around
for it.

Now, granted, Gene and Ace are not know for their memory on recordings; and
I have seen a very recent interview with Bob where he stated that he worked
on all the tracks besides "Rocket Ride"; so the water is still a bit murky.
I still stand by what I wrote, however.

And about this Doug Snazel thing -- opps, wrong post.

Thanks.
