Hi ppl!!

Did anyone happen to read the latest issue of the ONSAT satellite
magazine?? According to their article on the TNN Music City Country
Awards, Amy is nominated for the Christian Country Artist award. Just a
thought, but how on earth did she get nominated for that? I know her
music can be difficult to classify at times, but I've never dreamed it
would be considered Christian country. Don't get me wrong, though, I
*am* happy for Amy, and of course hope she wins, but I'm just a little
confused.

Hi
Maybe it was that duet she did with Patty Loveless "Every Kinda
People" on that olympic album that got her nominated for that category

Please don't frighten me! The day I hear Amy singing "Little Bitty" is
the day I turn my stereo off for good! :)

Ok, I'm sorry, but.......there are two things I must say here:
1) I don't ever want to hear "Mmm Bop" ever again as long as I live
2) I don't ever want to hear "Butterfly Kisses" ever again as long as I
live

Two songs that are driving me MAD!!!!!!

<VBG>My sentiments, exactly. :)

Yeah, those both are a bit overplayed, eh?? I'm happy that BK is
getting mainstream play, though. I'm always glad to see a song from CCM
get pop attention.

And as for MmmBop, yes, it does get on a lot of people's nerves, and
yes, it is overplayed, but it *is* a catchy song. And the other songs
on MoN are so awesome that it makes it worth it. (imho)

Oh, one note here: in one post, someone made a joke (??) about Hanson
causing seizures, etc., and I replied in defense of Hanson. So, let me
say this: I don't consider myself on this Hanson-crusade, and it
doesn't bother me to hear people not liking them. What *does* bother
me is when people refuse to listen to them or writing them off because
of their age. Whether anyone admits it or not, they *do* have talent.
Sure, they'll probably lose a lot of that talent when their voices
change <g>, but at this time, they do have some talent. And it really
is nice to have a group of teens in the pop world that are trying to be
themselves and not a pint sized version of adult grunge bands (ie:
Silverchair) or an industry manufactured robot (ie: Tiffany).

Just my 2 cents... sorry for the OT. :)

Amen! I haven't heard "Mmm Bop" in its entirety, but the way they
look is enough to scare me. Does anyone else think they look like
ugly girls?
As for "Butterfly Kisses", I was not tired of it until the 100th time
I heard it! I try my best to tolerate all Christian music, but
there's just some things I just can't stand! They play it at least
once a day on both the pop stations in Birmingham, and that makes me
barf! I guess you could also call it "Alanis Morissette" (sp?)
syndrome! =)

LOL...I wonder if you'd like my favorite song at this moment?...It Meridith
(sp?) Brook's "BITCH"...I love it ;-) (btw, I am in no way saying you are a
female dog I was just pointing out that those two songs above are a lot
better lyric wise than most that are out and "BITCH" seriously is my
favorite song at this moment.)

I've called my local pop station THREE times in the last week and
complained about those exact two songs. I have not been in the car in the
past three weeks and not heard either "MMMMMBOP" or "Butterfly Kisses".
GROSS!! Bob Carlisle is CCM's WORST artist and he is the one who crosses
over??!!?? What is this world coming to?

i know what you mean. fortunately, i've been listening to alternative
rock stations most of the time, so i hadn't had the displeasure. from
the few times that i'd heard 'butterfly kisses,' i really didn't like
the song. i thought it sounded like almost any other ccm ballads. and
worst of all, bob carlisle's voice/singing style sounded like michael
bolton! oh, the horror!

I *am* a kid (well, sort of), and I tear up every time I hear it. Thankfully,
though, I rarely listen to the radio (I prefer to bring my tapes in the car
when I drive), so I haven't heard it enough times to get sick of it yet. ;o)

I'm sorry if I disagree with many of you fellow Amy fans on this song, but
I personally love that song. In the beginning I have to admit I didn't
like it, but once I listened to the words, I fell in love with the song.
Most of the time I cry when I hear that song, remember how close I was to
my father before he died almost three years ago. It's hard knowing how I
was his little girl, and even though he said that I'd always be his little
girl, I really am no longer. This is a major problem in my life, and I
spend almost everyday crying at least once, remembering my father and
thinking of how much better life would be with him here. He was my best
friend, and I just miss him so much. This 16yr old is very lost without
him. Luckily I've came across Amy's music, and she has helped me make it
through some of those very though days, as she is helping me make it
through today.

Love always,
Star

I guess a lot of us don't have a reason to be attached to this song, but
I believe you certainly have one. I mean, I'm your age, and I still
have my father. I guess I am blessed, and we all should think about how
blessed we are with our loved ones.

Hey, kiddo, if the song makes you feel better, than it's a good song.
Losing someone you love is really hard- I have not lost a father or a
birth mother, but I lost someone very very close to me only a few months
ago. Trust God to help you let go, and trust God to heal your hurting.

Take care,

-Julie
