Jade Warrior/Horizen
Jade Warrior/At Peace
Finally available are two albums from Jade Warrior's lost years
following their departure from Island Records. Horizen is seeing its
first ever release on CD! Even its original vinyl release was quite
obsure and a major find for any lucky Jade Warrior fan who stumbled
across a copy. Horizen is comparable to their Island releases and
includes the work Images of Dune, composed for the soundtrack of the
movie Dune. It seems Dino de Laurentis was a fan of the band and
requested a submission from them for the film. Unfortunately for all
concerned some unscrupulous worker in the producer's office kept him
from receiving their tape.
At Peace is a totally different kind of Jade Warrior album exploring
the more ambient side of the band's nature. Sadly it was to be Tony
Duhig's last album as he passed away not long after. With these two
CD's, it marks the first time that the entire Jade Warrior catalog has
been available on CD!
Jade Warrior/Distant Echoes
The brilliant progressive rock pioneers, Jade Warrior are renowned for
their musical style. Distant Echoes features Tom Newman, who worked
with Mike Oldfield on Tubular Bells 1 and 2, Jon Field (flutes, EWI,
congas), Colin Henson (guitars) and Dave Sturt (Cipher on fretless
bass). The theme of the album focuses on footprints made by 3
hominids, three and a half million years ago in the volcanic ash.
Thoughts must go to who made these marks now turned to stone, and what
their dreams and beliefs must have been. This recording will carefully
take us through the mystery so these ancient people become distant
echoes of ourselves. Distant Echoes was the band's most recent album
from the 1990s which never got the distribution it deserved. Now,
specially mastered for CD, this is a truly atmospheric album, which
will appeal to both Ambient and Progressive Rock fans alike.

Jade Warrior/Breathing the Storm
Jade Warrior the legendary 70's progressive rock band, have gained a
reputation for their pioneering music. Jon Field was originally in the
band July along with Tony Duhig who died whilst a member of Jade
Warrior. This album is a tribute to Tony whose talent and inspiration
no doubt is reflected on the tracks of this recording. Breathing The
Storm also features Colin Henson on electric, acoustic, midi guitar
and keyboards and Dave Sturt (Cipher) on fretless bass, percussion and
keyboards. The music on this album evolved from a visual concept
inspired by the Chaos Theory whereby tiny events in time through
interaction make dramatic changes throughout the world. The surface of
the ocean is moved by the wind, bending to logic as it reacts to force
and gravity. A tropical deluge moves high over the continents,
bringing life to the land…. Breathing The Storm is a re- issue of
their second most recent album of the 1990s which was originally
released on the small independent English label Red Hot. Lovingly
re-mastered for CD this beautiful, atmospheric and stunning album, is
a must for ambient and Progressive Rock fans

Mick Karn/Each Eye a Path
Each Eye A Path is Mick Karn's fifth solo album, it consists of 10
tracks written, arranged and recorded between 1995 and 1999, with two
of the pieces featuring Mick's lead vocal. Mick first came to
prominence as a key member of the group Japan, his unique bass playing
skills contributing to the global success of the band. He then
released various solo projects on Virgin and CMP, working with Peter
Murphy, Midge Ure, Kate Bush, Joan Armatrading, David Sylvian, David
Torn and Natacha Atlas. He formed Medium Productions with Steve
Jansen and Richard Barbieri in 1993 to release material independent of
major label restrictions and concerns, there are now eleven titles
available on the label. Each Eye is an album of mood swings, often
darkness replaced by light, melancholy thoughts by hope. The other
two musicians involved are Mieko Shimizu ( Apache 61 ) and Steve
Jansen, who between them played organ, drums, programmed and mixed and
helped with various arrangements.

Robert Creely, Chris Massey, Steve Swallow, David CasT, David
Torn/Have We Told You All You'd Thought To Know?
One of America's greatest living poets, Robert Creeley, edited the
Black Mountain Review and was the link between the Beat poets of
Greenwich Village, the poets of the San Francisco Renaissance and
those of Black Mountain College. Creeley has long acknowledged the
influence of jazz on his poetry. In this collaboraton of music and
poetry, recorded live in September 1998 in Buffalo, NY, Creeley reads
his texts while guitarist David Torn, bassist Steve Swallow, reed
player David CasT and drummer Chris Massey provide a lively mesh of
improvised music that supports and augments the reading. Torn, CasT
and Massey also make up the ensemble Forever Sharp and Vivid.

Kit Watkins/Beauty Drifting
Beauty Drifting was Kit's release for 1996 now newly remastered for
2001! This is a collection of contemplative piano works, generally
mellow in flavor, but ranging from dark to light. Superb music, suberb
artwork, superb release! This one is really outstanding, I love the
acoustic piano and the VL1 parts. ... I'm struck by perfect balance of
all elements: notes, space, tone color, and ambience. Please continue
to rain these stunning works of art down upon us from your mountaintop
in Virginia! -- John A. Trevethan, Antarctica Media

David 'White Noise' Vorhaus/White Noise V - Sound Mind
David Vorhaus, a pioneer of sound technology and inventor of the
Kaleidophon electronic musical instrument, sent the world of the
1960's into an aural spin as cult originator of the first White Noise
album, "An Electric Storm." That definitive electronic release
trickled through the consciousness of the times offering sounds until
then unheard by human ears - it went on to sell hundreds of thousands
of copies worldwide. In hindsight the album seems so far ahead of its
time that it has taken the world a while to catch up. Only now are
DJ's, producers and dance experimentalists acknowledging the influence
of the Vorhaus soundscapes on their music. Always obsessed by the
farthest reaches and possibilities of technology and musical creation
(understandable when you have, as Vorhaus did, a background both in
classical music and in physics), he has become the granddaddy of
electronic music. On this new album, "Sound Mind," David Vorhaus
explores a dark ambient territory of unearthly beauty and
all-possessing strangeness - plucking white noise from the invisible
universe, and using the technology of the future to create a new
galaxy of sound for today.

Brian Eno/Neroli
Brian Eno can lay claim to being one of the most influential
contemporary musicians and producers of recent times. A founder
member of Roxy Music, his collaborations, art works, production, co -
writing and non - musician skills have seen him become a key figure in
the music industry during the last twenty five years. As well as his
solo projects, he has worked with John Cale, Kevin Ayers, Nico, Robert
Fripp, Robert Wyatt, James, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Laurie
Anderson, Devo and U2. His pioneering work with tape loops and sonic
manipulation led to the release of Discreet Music in 1975, he named
this new genre of music ' ambient '. Neroli, originally released in
1993 is indeed similar in style to Discreet Music and received some
extraordinary reviews, some very negative and some very positive !
Brian Eno/Music For Films III
Music For Films III continues where Brian Eno's two previous albums in
the series left off in the mid 1970's. Music For Films I and II
became landmarks in ambient music and the third follows in their
footsteps, with tracks being used for films as diverse as Opera and
Apollo. Features producer (Bowie, U2, Talking Heads, James) and
ambient pioneer Brian Eno along with Harold Budd, Michael Brook,
Daniel Lanois (Peter Gabriel, U2, Bob Dylan) and former Led Zeppelin
bass player, John Paul Jones.
Brian Eno & John Cale/Wrong Way Up
John Cale and Brian Eno first worked together in 1974, when Brian
produced John's album, Fear. In 1989, the two travelled to Moscow
where Eno recorded Cale's Words For The Dying. In the course of that
project, they co - wrote three songs, one of which, The Soul Of Carmen
Miranda, was included on Words For The Dying. With Eno returning to
vocal duties for the first time for many years, Cale who had just
finished his acclaimed collaboration with Lou Reed, Songs For Drella,
was keen to become involved.
