I know nothing about that techno/ambiant/drum and
bass/callitwhateveryoulike trend
but some time ago I've discovered Squarepusher and I think he is one of
the most innovative
musician to come in a long time. He seems to be very unique in what he
does so I wondered
if anybody knew artists that sounded alike. Any suggestion?

well, it depends on which albums of his you picked up...he recently
went through quite a change in sound, so you'll have to be more
specific in which of his styles you are listening to.

I have 'Vic Acid','Big Loada' and 'Music is rotted one note' and
I like all 3 of them . I would like to buy more but his other albums
are like 40 bucks (import) here in Montreal.

Well Warp Records is what your talking, I think. They got a 10th
birthday triple CD out soon and I think that might be a good place to
start. Basically anything on warp and you will not be going wrong. I
love warp and you can find them @

www.warp-net.com

Recently (2 years) Skam records has come into exisitance and they are
very closely related to warp. Buy everything on skam for 2 reasons:

a) They are very good
b) They need your support

The two big name that are important to me are Plaid and Autecutre (both
on Warp)

Take Care

This just isn't even remotely true. WARP has been far more dissapointment
than not recently.

Again, not even remotely true. They've been around for longer than 2
years. If we're counting the release of "lego feet" as their inception,
it's more like 9. However I believe their releases following that SKA001
(which wasn't even release to the general public) were starting in 94/95.
So that makes them 5-6 years old.

Not a flame, but there's enough witchcraft-voodoo-BS surrounding
MaS/SKAM/aphex twin to last me for the rest of my life. No need to add to
the misinformation.

Well, I agree on this one. SKAM definitely needs your $ more than WARP,
and hell even SKAM dwarfs some labels out there in terms of distribution.
IDM is still a very small genre. (see: "global village")

Does bigger really equate to better?
