well he did alot of drugs so it might have been a heart attack or an overdose
Héctor was on a bad nota, and jumped from a balcony of the Regency Hotel in
El Condado, San Juan. The Regency at that time had open, balcony style
hallways that were open-air. Héctor's fall was broken by some big air
conditioning ducts on the roof of the restaurant section of the first floor.
He survived the incident, but never got back his health totally.
His death about 6 years later in NY was the aftermath of his fall, his
depression and the reports that he had AIDS.
How could his death be the result of "reports that he had AIDS"?
I guess you are saying it was one of the three, probably, and you don't
really know which.

I accept ten lashes for faulty syntax. Héctor never recovered his health
after the jump/fall; he did die of a heart attack and was in a state of
depression which was reported to have been caused by being HIV + and,
consequently, not being able to recover his health.
I remember we did some coverage of the death and funeral, and there were
various official and rumor-ficial reports. I had lost contact with Héctor
before the jump, so I have no first hand knowledge one way or another.
The man's heart stopped beating due to the deterioration from the AIDS
virus. The fall had nothing to do with it. He was up and raring to go in
a concert held in Puerto Rico shortly after that and "seemed" in good
spirits. (Smiling, etc)
His depression had been an ongoing thing with him for awhile, even
before leaping out that window.
La "Cura" and la "Sida" was what did him in.....
