> About Luis Blassini & Iroko:
>
> The sound of Luis Blassini & Iroko is what New York Salsa Bands are about: hard core dance music fronted by an improvisational singer that can lead the band into a euphoric & hypnotic swing that ends with the dancer's ectasy. This is much better than taking a pill, it's music that gets into the bloodline taking the body with it. Luis Blassini's tenor voice fits perfect as lead for this project. Born & raised in Bayamon, P.R. Blassini came to New York in the early '70s at the height of the salsa music movement. He had already been singing w/local bands on the Island before hitting the big apple, but once here, he sang w/ just about every major orchestra from Eddie Palmieri to Israel "Cachao" Lopez. An intermission in his New York career had Blassini cross coasts to study music and work in Los Angeles where he attended community college while singing with the L.A. All-Stars before returning to the City to sing with Yomo Toro, Fajardo y sus Estrellas and various other groups. Today, he can be seen around New York with his group, Iroko La Banda boasting two trombones, piano, violin, flute, full Latin percussion and the piercing vocals of Luis Blassini. Join us as we welcome him to the MILK Lounge.

>>> Sobre el MILK Lounge... cuando fue conocido como "Christophers", tocaban todas las orquestas del momento como Tito Punete hasta Ray Barretto. Todavia las paredes salpican con los sonidos de la salsa gorda. Hoy en dia, se llama el MILK Lounge y este salon todo de blanco vibra con los sonidos de la música del siglo 20. ¡A GoSalza!

>>>>> About the MILK Lounge:
>>>>> ... back in the day, it was known as Christopher's or the Oldtimer's club where all the great Latin music legends played. From Tito Puente to Ray Barretto, the walls still vibrate with the spirits of saleros past. Today it's the MILK Lounge and this all white room throbs with music from the 21st Century.
