New Orleans, the negro welfare pisspot of America. It has no
socially redeeming value whatsoever except to remind everyone
how stupid Democrats and blacks are.

Wrong.

It also provokes racists like you into demonstrating why
the Democrats -no matter how stupid they may be- won
the last Presidential election.

Because the one thing US voters dislike more than an
idealistic but inefficient black President is a racist.

There is actually some truth to that. The reasons I voted for Obama
in '08 were:

a)The irrational attempt to question Obama's birth circumstances.

b)The irrational attempt to paint Obama as a Muslim.

c)The irrational attempt to associate Obama with William Ayers.

The moment I saw all the right-wing propaganda flowing, I knew I was
going to vote for Obama.

(c) is the most troubling. Obama is just a very good politician. He
would have a discussion or work towards the common good with William
Ayers, same as he would most other people. That doesn't make him a
terrorist.

Also, Ayers was FAR from my definition of a terrorist. When the only
2 people to die in Weather Underground bombings were Weather
Underground members ... Let's just call him an overmotivated
activist.

So you chose to vote for a far-left, Progressive, wanna-be Fascist,
because those who you perceive to be right-wing called him a far-left,
Progressive, wanna-be Fascist? Way to go. At least you get to live
with same mess as the rest of us.

Well, there is that oft ignored achievement where they built the dump of a
city below sea level. They populated it with blacks and waited for Mother
Nature to call, which she did. Unfortunately George Bush saved all the
blacks who first ran away but then came back.

Mother Nature do you hear us calling? Scrub this pisshole of a city
clean!

1.) You're an admitted racist and you never had any
"faith in Obama" to begin with. (He's a politician, so
why would anyone with an IQ better than that of a
fire hydrant "have faith" in him anyway?)

2.) So: when someone you know (your preacher, for
instance) says something you completely disagree with,
you should back them to the hilt instead of being honest?

Brilliant!

Moot point.

You don't think that *anyone* who isn't a flaming Tea-Party
revisionist can think rationally, so who in their right mind
(pun intended) is going to care about your opinion?

Well, there are other problems with Tom Herman's statement.

The first problem, which you pointed out, is that loyalty has its
limits. If a friend of mine gets busted on a shoplifting or burglary
or auto theft or urinating in public charge, I certainly won't
cooperate with five-oh in any way. But if the friend does something
with a higher societal impact that carries with it a higher obligation
from me (such as first degree murder with no provocation), then I'd do
the "right" thing and testify against my friend. If you want to call
that "throwing under the bus", then do so.

What Wright did was actually slightly worse than making a statement
that Obama didn't agree with. Because Obama had an association with
Wright, what Wright said blew back on Obama. Obama had to distance
himself from those remarks. One might view Wright's behavior as an
assault on Obama, because Wright and Obama had a prior association. It
was a different situation than someone with no association with Obama
making divisive statements.

The second problem is that to "throw someone under the bus" implies
that what you do has some impact on the individual (such as getting
them locked up in prison). Obama's remarks and actions had no real
effect on Wright, so that is hardly a case of "under the bus".

I think all of it represents clear, rational thinking.

It is true that smears directed against Obama have no bearing on his
worth as a candidate, but they do reflect negatively on the
credibility of those doing the smearing.

If you have two candidates running for office and you have no
meaningful information about A (Obama), but information that B
(McCain, Palin, the GOP) is a cheat and a liar, it makes sense to vote
for A. It is the best you can do with limited information.

Seems pretty rational to me!

And as far as Ayers goes ... it is true that the government defines
terrorism as any illegal act designed to influence government action,
and under that definition Ayers was a terrorist.

But Ayers seems very sane compared to folks blowing up airliners full
of people they don't know. Planting bombs and then giving lots of
warning so the affected buildings could be evacuated ... gee, it
almost seems like one is trying to avoid killing folks while still
destroying stuff and making a statement.

Certainly not behavior I approve of and certainly a major felony, but
quite a bit different than the folks playing with airplanes and
skyscrapers and shoes with explosive insoles and PETN in their
underwear.

To judge that one kind of terrorist is worse than another ... also
seems pretty rational to me!

But according to him, it doesn't count as racism

.....which sort of makes one wonder what it is he

He also seems to be more than a bit dim, since he claims with a

apparently, is coughing our his last in his trailer park.

America is shattering demgraphically, stalling economically. Question.
Does anyone
believe that Congress can ever unite on major issues? Betcha one
failing concept
after another. Meantime real social stress. Probably nothing but
negative thoughts
but we argue on minor issues to vent natural competitive urges.

"Me too, neither." ----Stan Laurel

I like to remember a movie in which Beau Bridges would show up in front of hillbilly shanties in Appalachia, dressed in immaculate white tennis garb of the 1920's.

Bridges would make a strange proposal to the ignorant hillbillies.

He would offer to jump into their cesspool for fifty cents.

Since the hillbillies were starved for entertainment, they couldn't resist watching a city slicker jump into their cesspool, so they paid Bridge the requested half dollar.

Bridges donned swimwing googles, pinched his nostrils shut and jumped into the cesspool and paddled around for several minutes before requesting to be pulled out.

Then he went and sat on the hillbillie's front porch.

After a few minutes, the smell of sewage on his befouled clothes began to ignore the hillbillies and they asked him why he didn't take his fifty cent fee and leave.

Bridges stated that he would leave if they gave him fifty dollars...

(So far, nobody has made me an attractive offer to get me to leave reeky, bad as it smells...)
