Having ridden an 800 and being a large man myself I would recommend the
1400.

no major problems that i know of except the two cylinder motor is kind-a
dogie. go for the
1400 cc. motor. every little bit helps when dealing with two cylinder
bikes. and the
chopper styling is a bit out dated, even for a cruiser..

1) The Battery.!!! Factory costs $ 200, aftermarket cost about $ 120. But
that's only part of the bad news. To remove it, and replace it. About two
hours.
2) The clutch. On hot days, heavy traffic, the fluid gets thin, and u lose
operation of the clutch.
3) Parts: Most dealers don't carry any, but of course they will be glad to
order it.
Be prepared tp pay!!
4) Spark plugs. Pain in the neck to change.
5) Gas tank. Look for refill at about 80 miles.

1) True, they are expensive.
2) Had many people tell me this, but never did experience it. Of course, most
of those that said about it were from Georgia, mississippi, and other very hot
states in the summer
3) Don't know, never had to buy any parts for it
4) This is a normal Suzuki thing, and not limited to the intruder models
5) Whoa! That would only be 27mpg! I routinely refilled mine at 120-130
miles, averaging about 40mpg. All time low was 36mpg, and all time high was
50mpg. I agree though, they could use about another gallon of capacity in the
tank. (somewhere in the 4.5 gallon range)
