If you're in the UK I can recommend someone to paint it for you. Doing
it yourself is OK but without proper care you could mess it up big
style.

I recently had my CBR 1000 resprayed and my wifes GPZ 500. Both are
fantastic.
I've lost count of the number of people who come up to me and ask
about the bikes.

The friend that painted them often has his work featured in Fast Bikes
Magazine and also Back Street Hero's. He finished painting a Brough
Superior recently which got the owner Ł50K for the bike!!!!

E-mail me for details.

Wetsand the panels with 600-grit (or coarser first if you must remove
scratches). Then clean them with isopropyl alcohol and allow them to
dry (do not touch the surface to be painted... oil on your fingers
inhibits paint bonding). Use automotive spraypaint, I generally do 4 or
5 coats. Then automotive clearcoat, lots of thin coats for a nice
shine.

that's it. You'll notice that the last panel you do will look much much
better than the first.
