No, or none of the riders I know would do something so stupid as to
try to outrun the cops in midtown heavy freeway traffic or up I-17 to
Black Canyon city. We may get over the ton, even just about any
weekend. but it's in remote area's or at one of Firebird motor Sports
parks 3 tracks, Vegas or New Mexico's Arroyo Seca race track I'm also
surprised this guy didn't take some diversionary route and just ditch
his bike amongst traffic around the airport when he got off the
freeway there. Then once the choppers get wind of your trail it's
pretty much over for any chance of escape I would suppose.

If caught doing criminal speed in AZ, (85+) if you stop right away
most cops will knock off some of the speed and even "cops riding sport
bikes" at >100MPH up in the Salt River Canyon have let the whole pack
off with a warning because one of "their own" was directly evolved.

BTW, I've never been cited for speeding (even with the new stepped up
photo radar freeway and intersection camera's around the PHX metro). I
did get one ticket for double yellow passing and two more for red
light running, one on a no right turn on red marked freeway off ramp
but that's all in the 24 years I've lived in AZ. They also have a
program that erases anything but criminal speed, good every two years,
so if you're a good boy or girl and space out your tickets they will
never effect your insurance rates. Also, any moving violation involves
at least a $100+ ticket charge and traffic school is $133 online or on
a weekend.

Well I was certain it wasn't YOU. I mean the guy wasn't on a RZ350 fer
christ's sake! 8^) Couldn't be me obviously...for one I don't live
there and for the other the bike would have been blue OR burgandy and
neither of those will go 140, so far as anyone knows anyways. ;^)

Kieth, I also have an 06 SV-650 naked variety. It unlike the RZ two
stroke has given me rock solid reliability whereas the RZ sadly has
not and has been a virtual money sink since I bought it. Currently
it's sitting in my garage (head off) with two holed pistons.

We never get to see the caps actually catch him but that clip reminded
me of the crazy dude who did the high speed loop around Paris who was
reportedly now DEAD from such antics. Hell, to me, doing 50-60 on a
twisty road is enough fun most times.

WUT? I've ridden with you, I was going as fast as I dared and you
left me in the dust. Of course I am the "world's slowest sportbike
rider" (tm).

heh, you really MUST ride with me on a twisty road...you likely will
have time for a nap before I catch up. 8^) Mind you I'm faster going
slow than most people are with the throttle pinned. ;^)

ah, forgot about that. I plead drainbamage. It and the ER6-N are on my
short list if I go looking for another bike, which isn't to likely.

OUCH!!! Shoulda got a Titan. ;^) That beast is hard to hurt and easier
to work on...none of that pesky water cooling or power valve (they
call it YPVS right?) 8^) Mind if you lost your mind the marks are
already on the barrels to schnurle port it and add two more intake
port in the process. Pretty solid transmission and clutch also. Bit on
the heavy side though even for the era.

I so love not worrying about pre-mix...oil injection ROCKS!

All the two stroke Yammi's had oil injection since at least the RD-air
cooled series of bikes had three 74,75 & 78 400 Daytona Special &
never had any problems short of short plug life. The reliability
issues are not that common in the old two stroke yammi twins either. I
just had a run of mostly lean carb problems that started after a top
speed run that cracked a cylinder liner just above the exhaust port
(destroyed that piston & chopped up the head pretty good ) and haven't
got the repair/dyno tune-up jobs done right ever since. It's seems
fine on twisty roads where you're always on then off throttle but it
couldn't take steady freeway riding since after the 1st repair. The
repair guys never changed the pilot jets or needle settings to my
knowledge but when you have someone else do the work you loose control
of the outcome to at least some degree. I'm too old and sickly to
tackle the job myself (I did pull the head off but that's pretty easy)
see photo below.

Owww. I owe you and another gent some pics of what's left of the #1
piston on the Titan. No scoreing, no buggered head...no lost
compression in spite of my losing the piston skirt on the exhaust
side. 8^) That's what I call dodging the bullet. And I will get you a
picture of it, as soon as it warms up and I get down to that #$^^ing
unheated garage and yeah that's on the to do list ALSO.

As did the immediate predecessor to the RD, the DS7. I think the DS6
did as well.

As did the YR3, YR5, and bikes from the 1960s....

Actually, Suzuki's oil injection system was better. Yamaha just chucked
the lube in through the inlet tract, whereas Suzuki's system had lines
that fed it directly to the big ends and main bearings.

Always felt that Suzuki strokers were stronger, as a result.

Now, must get my TS250 restored this year.
