Upcoming project if I get my bike working again is to repair the seat, a
Corbin "Gunfighter" that came with my used Honda CB700. The seat portion
vinyl is cracked in several places and I thought Corbin could sell a kit
or repair it for a nominal fee. They want $150-200! Has anyone had
success with this type situation?

You might try a local auto upholstery shop. They can usually do the job
including shaping the foam, if desired.

Good luck,

Yeah. I had a local car upholsterer redo mine for $65. Works fine and I didn't
have to argue w/Mike or wait a month.

Yea, for sure don't mess with Corbin. I'm getting my CBR seat redone
by an upholstry shop after pricing out two hundred dollar seats from
them. The guy said he can put on the same textured material on top
like a Corbin. He also said the ribbing material around the edge of
their seats causes a lot of failures, so don't put that on.

Try SARGENT'S UPHOLSTERY here in Jacksonville, Florida. They're in all the m/c
magazines and do excellent work. I had my Nighthawk seat redone abut 5 months ago. Had
super cell foam put in the front portion of the seat; textured material to keep from
slipping; and red piping around the edge to set it off from my black motorcycle. WHOLE
THING came to $158 total!
