I just bought myself a '89 FZR400(non California/EXUP version) and am
curious about finding some specs for it. I.E. what kind of
horsepower, stopping power, 0-60 80-55 (more important :) ) and the
like. if anyone has a spec sheet like this please email it to me or
point me in the right direction to find it. Thanks. I would also
like to know what Mods (pipe, rubber, jets, etc.) are the best for
this machine. My bike is totally stock, and very clean, but I will
probably want to trick it out a bit and anyone else's experiences
would help me out quite a bit I'm sure. Thanks again for any help
available.

Hey Gordon,
I have an '88 FZR 400 (49 state version), I have had mine for 4 years
and love it. You want specs, I got specs. these specs are from an old
mag. test. 1988.

Performance
Standing start 1/4 mile..........................12.43sec. @103.57mph
Acceleration, 0-60mph...........................3.7sec
Braking, 60-0mph...................................121ft.
Engine rpm @ 60mph topgear................6140
Maximum speed in gears
@ 14,000rpm............................(1) 49 (2) 72 (3) 94
(4) 112 (5) 126
(6) 137

Engine
Bhp @ rpm........................................50.76 @ 13,000
Troque @ rpm...................................24.95 @ 9500

these are for a Stock bike..

On my bike, I run Dunlop Sport Max, and love them, I run regular
street compound, and still have to replace the rear tire every year. I
also have a Yosh pipe on it. with a stage I jet kit. The Yosh sounds
very good, with these mods on my bike I don't know what the hp is. but
will find out this year, plan to put it on a dyno. One other thing to
make your bike look trick is to get the solo tail cover, if you don't
ride 2 up then get the cover and take off the rear foot pegs. make a
fender eliminator kit, to get rid of that long ugly fender, and put on
some flush mount turn signals on the rear fender.. Looks much better!!
If you would like me to give you info on the rear solo seat cover you
can e-mail me at cmat...@delnet.net if you have any other questions
just ask..

Later.........................................
