HI,

at idle speed my bike pops, like a miss or something. also when decelerating,
it goes pop pop pop pop....not too bad, but more than i think it should. it has
a VH 4-1 megaphone, k&n pods, and i jetted it as close as i can get it. It
didnt pop a idle before, but after i took it out of storage and redid the carbs
it started doing it.

could it be a vacuum leak, low speed adjustment, or willa set of plugs clear it
up? it runs fine and pulls cleanly to redline. i did sync the carbs

thanks,
vince

Check the air shut off valves. Had to replace three of four on my 83 CB1000c due
to deceleration popping. Cured the problem. They're pretty salty price wise. $25
each from after market supplier....even more from Honda. Takes a couple of hours
too. Only way you'll know is to take the carbs apart and look at them. You may
want to exhaust all other possibilities first. Good luck

Sorry for late reply, often decel popping is the result of low speed
fuel mixture being too lean. The popping can also be caused by a leak
somewhere in the intake system. Check for leaks and consult a service
manual for the position of the low speed or pilot mixture jet. Adjust
the mixture by turning the jet screw and do it in quarter turn
increments....
