Hi,

I've bought myself a CBR900RR in purple, yellow, white and some small bands
of green. The dealer told me the bike was only made in a limited edition
in those colors. Could anyone (in the States) confirm this ?

ThanX

Sounds like the one on all of our showroom floors.

Hi,

In Europe, I've only seen 2 of them, both in the showroom of my dealer.
Anyway, in Europe, the models have a different coloring from those in the
States...

If you confirm that color was standard in the States in '96 I'll have to go
and talk to my dealer...

Please do so...

ThanX

Yeah I've seen two of them around Los Angeles, I don't know just what they
call "limited production". But I feel that your just buying a paintjob.

"Kevin" <gre...@earthlink.net> had the sheer audacity to say...

I hate to be the one to burst the bubble of pride, but in Florida the Smokin
Joe's is just the second color of two offered for that year. They are a
dime-a-dozen here and gain no special attention or price benefits.

Brilliant! Pay extra to have a cigarette ad painted on your new bike!

Sheesh!

Not standard.. it was an option. Still available I believe... though they
were a limited run..

I've been reading this thread in the various NG's and it doesn't seem
like anyone's got it right yet. US spec 1996 CBR900RR's were available
in three colors 1) Solid pearl red. 2) Erion racing INSPIRED fluro red,
white and black. 3) Smokin Joe's INSPIRED yellow, purple, white and
touches of green. The race team inspired schemes features no team or
sponsor logos, just colors evocative of the team pain jobs. However -
Honda of America did offer in limited numbers a CBR600 F3-SJR in semi
accurate Smokin Joe's paint and decals. Not all of the sponsor decals
were duplicated and "Camel" was nor found on the bike anywhere. The
colors were correct (except fot the blend on the tank) and even featured
whit number plates. I don't know about prices, but exclusivity probably
drove the prices to what ever the dealer could get for them.

Hiya Johan

I'm afraid I can't confirm this, I just wanted to respond and commend you on
your choice of bike. I bought the same one. If you've made any modifications
or plan to, please reply by email.

Regards

Geoff

So anyhow, why isn't there a "park" position on a VFR's ignition, Mr Know

There's no point to it, since all of the other gvehicles will be way
ahead of the VFR.
