Does anyone have any experience, good, bad, or indifferent, with leathers from
a company called Syed?

Jeff has used them for several years and they have protected him during
some of his less than finer moments. Their service is first class. Jeff
has used spesci sport, vanson, and fieldsheer. He recieved abrasions from
the leathers (not the track) in each case. Jeff endorses the use of Syed
custom leathers, Arai Helmets and Held gloves. These endorsements come
from experience not sponsorship.

I've got a set of Vanson's and a set of Syed's. Both are custom suits with body
armour. The Vanson's are better made, better finished, more timely in the delivery
of product and fit better. The Syed's, by comparison, seem a little cheap and have
taken up to two years to resolve problems with a set of leathers my teammate
purchased. If I had to do it again I'd get Vanson every time.

I've crashed in the Vanson's a few times withour injury and have yet to deck the
Syed's. I use the Vanson's for everyday riding (although I raced in them for three
years) and I use the Syed's for racing only because they are perforated and have the
team graphic on the back.

All three racers on my team use Syed, and we're all happy
with them. You're not going to beat what you get for the price. A good
quality, fully armored suit, custom fitted for ~$1000 is a pretty good
deal. Between the three of us, we have probably 10 get offs on Syeds,
without even repair work being required.I had four seperate intro's to
the pavement on mine last season, two at fairly high speed, and one at
80+ mph. They came through with only scuffing.I also found they
delivered my suit on time (even though I ordered it during bike week,
and they are in Daytona!).The only complaint I've heard about them is
when my teammate went to get his, how shall we say, made a little more
roomy. The local seamstress apparently hates Syed's because they are
very difficult to work with.I also really like their built in back
protector option.--

I suppose, but I haven't crashed a streetbike since 1990. How many
bikes have other people on this thread crashed since Christmas? :)Beside
s, I figure crashing in front of a photographer is the only way that
I'll get my picture in Road Racing World.--

I bought my last set from them. I selected them because
1 They use thicker leather
2 Several other racers have recommended them
3 They have experience fitting leathers to women's slightly different
(8-)) figures (probably not relevant to you).

The leathers arrived in plenty of time. They fit the "women's figure"
parts fine, but the legs were about 6 inches too short. I sent them
back and they fixed it in an acceptable, but not ideal way. Even with
returning them to be fixed, I still had them in plenty of time for
Daytona. The thicker leather, plus the modification, meant that they
wouldn't fit in my old boots, so I had to buy new ones (I had been
racing, off and on, in the old ones for almost 20 years, so they didn't
owe me anything).

They are comfortable for racing, even a large women scrunched up on an
itsy bitsy 125. Luckily I haven't crash tested them yet.
