I just turned on Prime Network and they dedicated tonight's broadcast to
Larry Schwarzbach whom they said had died last weekend. They didn't say
whether or not it was race related although I assume it was. I guess
it would have been at the Mid-Ohio race on 08-01-92. I wasn't able to watch
the whole telecast due to other people I live with watching crap on the
TV, but I did see the first few minutes and they didn't mention it again
so I can only assume they didn't have time to work it into the production.

If anybody has any details please post, and best regards to family and
friends, he will be greatly missed.

Yes, Larry died of injuries sustained at Mid-Ohio this past weekend.
Although I barely knew Larry personally, (spoke with him a few times,
had him wizz by many times) he was one of the top racers that seemed
like a real nice guy to me... a

I was not in Ohio but I understand that Steve Creville (sp?) was unable
to avoid Larry after a crash coming out of the keyhole. One of the
bikes is said to have gone over the wall, a testimony to the violence
of the crash if you have ever raced there. Larry was seriously injured
and died at the hospital.

I hope that everone who reads this has a small prayer for Larry and
the people who loved him..

I was at the races on Sunday, 2 Aug. Larry had gone out and won the
600 Supersport race in convincing fashion. After the 600's the Harley Twin-
sports race was run and after that the Superbikes were to run.

At about the tenth lap, while Scott Russel was running away with the
race, Larry and Steve Crevier were involved in an accident in the last corner
before the start finish line. This is one of only two turns on the course
which has a concrete wall on the outside at the exit. Although the turn was welllined with haybales the accident was quite bad. Larry's bike even jumped the wall. Crevier was taken to a hospital in Mansfield and Larry was flow by the
helicopter at the track to Cleveland. Larry was declared brain dead Aug 5,
according to my father.

The turn in which the accident occured is one of the most critical on
the entire course. A good drive out of the last turn can make for a very good
lap. Apparently, in the best racing fashion, Larry and Steve were both going forthat good lap when something went terribly wrong.

Larry will be sorely missed by all, I'm sure.

A great pity. While I know nothing about Larry, I have known Steve
well enough to chat with. Anyone in a position to do so, please pass on my
condolences to Larry's family, and get-well wishes to Steve.
