A Van for Eddie - Update 1/20

Update 1/20/97

Ann has a trust fund set up, but she has to endorse the checks as she is
trustee. I decided to get a P.O.Box here in Pittsburgh, so I can buffer
any whako mail she might get with a "public" address. Also, I will be
keeping track of who sent what, a list of email addresses, snail mail
addresses and the like.

Good News!!!! Due to the money Ann was able to get over the weekend,
and the $1200 + in pledges from Internet folks, Ann has put a
non-refundable deposit on the van. IT IS OURS!!!!! So now it's just a
matter of getting the rest of the money.

Please send letters with your contributions. Eddie's down in the dumps
right now, he needs our support.

I am only slightly less amazed than Ann is with regard to the
tremendous support from all of you. As I didn't know Eddie before his
accident, other than slight brushes with his words on the harley digest,
I really never knew how great of a guy he was. He has friends all over
this globe, friends who help in any way they can, friends who think of
him often, even with the mention of his name. Ann and I are very
touched.

The URL I posted previously is on an iffy server. This is too important
to have available only sometimes. I have replicated that page. The new
URL with Eddie's info is at:

I will be posting updates and such there.

I also have a list going here for those who would prefer email updates
over digest or usenet. If you'd like to be on that list, send me a
message.

If you'd prefer to drop your check in the mail ASAP, instead of waiting
until I get the POBox address posted, shoot me a message and I'll send y
ou my personal address.
