We raised $8000 for a Mobility Converted van for Eddie. He will
be getting his van this weekend, Feb 8, 1997. I will be going up on
Sunday and will be taking pictures which will be scanned in and
linked off these pages.

Currently, the plan is to apply all new contributions to Eddie's
therapy. He needs Physical Therapy, Occupational therapy and
Speech Therapy. Since he will soon be moving to a new, better
facility, he will probably only start one of these therapies at the
present time (I have suggested letting him choose what he'd like to
work on first, this should fhelp him get excited about it). Since Ann
put down a $2000 deposit, $2000 of the contributions are available
for therapy, so she can set this up right away. She has to look at the
process for doing this, which she will start looking into tomorrow
(2/4) to be sure she follows the procedures of the home.

Make checks payable to:

Edward F. Kieger III Charitable Trust

Send the contributions to:

EK Fund
P.O. Box 7392
Pittsburgh, PA 15213-7392
USA

If you want notification of the receipt of your donation, please send
me an email message with a valid email address and I'll gladly send
one.

This account is located at Ohio Savings Bank, Shaker Heights, OH.

Please feel free (and obligated!) to send correspondence and/or
pictures to Eddie at that address. In addition, you can send myself
(SunShine) or his Mom (Ann Kieger) mail as well, but please only
use the EK FUND addressee label if there's a contribution enclosed.

UPDATE: Eddie's been down in the dumps. I sent him a bunch of
email and posts and it really lit him up when Ann read them. I am
forwarding letters and pictures today (1/24), I ony wish I could be
there when she reads them. I will be giving him a tutorial on "The
Internet - As It is Today". If that doesn't put him to sleep, nothing
will! ;-) Seriously, though, it should be intersting for him to hear
how far we've come in 3 short years. And he'll understand the
http://.... addresses at the end of TV shows!

Thanks guys and gals for the shot in the arm, Eddie needed it!

Contributions received to date total
$ 8392.00 US
That's 105% of our goal of $8000.
In addition, there are European funds in transit (bank to bank) and
Canadian funds of $267cdn to be sent. To send Canadian funds,
contact Ken Dykes

I'd like very much to see us be able to get Ann's money (her $2000
deposit) back to her to put towards Eddie's Physical Therapy. The
$8000 does not include costs for title, transfer, tax, license and
insurance to get it on the road.

Much more money is currently in the hands of the U.S. Postal
Service.

Ann took the first *huge* bulk of checks in yesterday (1/29), and
the bank simply stamped them without requiring her signature (as
she is the trustee). This was possible since the checks were made out
to the trust fund. So if your check comes back unendorsed, don't
fret. They simply did her a huge favor. She doesn't (yet) have a
rubber stamp. 8-)

Thanks for your support!!!!!
