If money wasn't a limitation and someone built you your dream bike
(be it a road or dirt based based one), what are the two dream
modifications you'd most want the bike to have.

You can't just say no needs for mods, I'll take this dream brand of
bike.

Hub steering (or a steered upright like Yamaha's GTS1000 had) and two-
wheel drive.

And, if it's no trouble, I want a ~20 inch seat height with feet-
forward controls like Dan Gurney's limited production Alligator.

Surely they would both be built onto your dream bike at the outset, and
there would be no need for modification?

Doesn't that defeat the main reason for owning a bike, the constant
feeling that at some unpredictable time in the future you are going to
lose a substantial amount of skin and have both legs in plaster?

The only dream I remember ever having about a motorbike was where I kept
falling off one on a roundabout trying to get my knee down.

This was probably due in part to my complete lack of skill, but also because
it was some sort of Harley drag bike I was using, which probably isn't the
ideal tool for the job.

So, given the nature of my dream bike I guess my mods would have to be:

1. Crash bars

2. Very, very, very, very thick knee-sliders.

Actually they are the mods I need for *all* of my bikes ... what are the
odds of that, eh?

The question makes no sense, if it's a dream bike and you had it made, why
would you need to modify it afterwards, wouldn't you have it built the way
you wanted the first time? If you were to ask if we bought a stock bike and
could make two mods, that would make sense, but a dream bike that we're
building? I suppose the seat if it turned out to be uncomfortable.

I wouldn't want to be riding behind you when you switched from Wing to CRF.
I'd imagine that being smacked in the face with half a ton of bodywork and

Shit, you're well nigh invisible to most cagers now.

Since we're clearly into the realm of fantasy here, I'd go for a

I'm simple:

My current Ultra with a few mods:

HID headlights - High and low
ABS - Available now
11 gal gas - 6.5 in the tank and 4.5 in the frame.
103CI generating about 90HP and 100 torque.
Better suspension - Front and rear.

No. I mean paint that captures light hitting one side of an object and
redirects it right out the other side. There was a story somewhere, not
so long ago, about fibers that could do that. Woven into a military
uniform, you'd have invisible soldiers.

For me, my dream bike would likely be an older Harley (70's). So, I'd
want two things:

1. The bike to be restored to original with a paint job of my choice
2. The bike to have updated mechanical parts like the clutch, possible
chromed wheels if it makes sense.

Don't be stupid, there's be an electronic override so that you had to
be doing 6mph or less in order to change[1]. If they can put such a
thing of the folding roof on my wife's car then they can surely add it
to a tri-former motorbike.

Let's concentrate on the real problems that have to be overcome - like
what happens to your luggage if you fill the Wing's panniers and then
transform?

[1] So it would be fine, for example, to go from CRF to Wing half-way
through a feet-up U-turn.
