Need some good advice. I'm looking at a 2007 Sportster with fuel
injection. Any comments on this type of bike? I'm only used to a 1980
Sportster, old 1000cc 4 speed. I love it, but want something newer, and
don't know a lot about the newer fuel injected bikes. The dealer says
this has the automatic choke which makes it nicer for colder weather
driving, which is good for me, riding up through November sometimes. I
would appreciate any advice.
Thanks.

The new rubber mounts are great! Careful if you mod it up you will need
a tuner for the EFI.

Heh, there is no choke. The EFI automatically adjusts for cold motor, 1
finger starts no throttle needed. Fire it up and run it for a minute or
so and drive away.

Thanks Rick....this is the type of respose I was hoping for. The bike
has good reviews overall, but hate tio give up the vintage bike. It's
just not too reliable anymore for daily driving.
Thanks again!

You could put that bike payment money towards fixing the Ironhead and
get off way cheaper.

Buy it. You will love the Fuel Injection and other updates. It is like night
and day compared to your old Iron Head. Having said that, it sure doesn't
have the "personality" of your old bike.

Something tells me I'm keeping the 80 anyway. The dealer isn't giving me
near what I can get on a private sale, and will turn around and sell for
3 or 4 thousand. Still doing my research on the 2007, but so far I'm
hooked on he reliability factor. Having more than one bike isn't a
crime....I just need a bigger garage.
Thanks again for all of your input. I appreciate it.
