...to buy a small part. Got out of there for $4.32! That's right. Less
than 5 bucks for a gen-yoo-wine HD part.

I immediately left the dealer and headed to the local Catholic church
where I told the story to the priest and showed the receipt to him as
proof. Then I asked about submitting my name to the Pope for
consideration of sainthood. He said that I didn't qualify because
becoming a saint requires more than one miracle.

I got out once for less than a dollar - IIRC it was about 68 cents for an
o-ring .

Less than a buck? You definitely deserve sainthood!

See you in a few weeks.

The vast majority of my dealership visits are free. I find shopping those
stores unpleasant nowadays. It's like going into a Gap store.

OTOH, my local shop who works on my dirt bikes, the guy has a collection of
classic rides of all ilk that I can spend a day browsing and I always buy
something small, I want him there my next visit. He's a helluva nice guy
too, no BS.

I refused to pay that much for new rubber floorboard inserts. The
surface was fine, it was just the rubber tits that hold it to the metal
frame that broke loose. So...I bought some stainless machine screws,
washers and nuts, drilled holes through the old rubber inserts, and
poked the screws through it. Tightened 'em up and they work fine. Plus
they have that rugged "metal" look to them now.

I'm a cheap bastid.

T'was one of those brass inserts in the fairing for the windshield screws.

I *do* need the saddle bag springs, though. Might hafta go down there
with another $5 bill and leave with some change.
