Russ died in a helicopter crash yesterday trying to land at
his Lake Tapps home.
While I can't call Russ a good friend, I have partied with him
on a number of occasions and I'd bet a few of you have met
him at least once.
This is the Seattle Times article.

Yeah, Dave Katte n' Russ built most of those bikes. I first met
Carman back in th' early 70's, still have a bidness card from th'
original shop here somewhere. Russ was just a kid back then.
>Russ sold the store last year to retire.
Pretty much had it made, pity.

Heard that yesterday on th' news, still ain't sunk in. Some of th'
reports said his/their daughter watched it go down. Did I hear right
that his passenger (SO) was released from th' hospital already?
R.I.P Russ Tom <clink>.

Russ sold me my FatBoy nearly 10 years ago. He about choked when I told
him I was going to pay cash for it.

I bought both of my bike from Destination, but have bought plenty of parts
from Downtown.
Will there be a memorial ride? Any details? Count me in!
The article at the King 5 web site says she's still in the hospital.
A memorial will be at the Puyallup Nazarene Church this
Saturday but the time isn't clear. King 5 reports it's at 2 but
the Seattle Times reports it's at noon.

A friend who's "in touch" with the beginnings of an organized ride
will let me know when something's final. I'll post it when I know.
