I'm going to Mammary in the morning!
Bang POW! The pipes are gonna roar.
Pull out the stopper!
Let's have a whopper!
But get me to the meet on time!
I gotta be there in the mornin'
charged up and lookin' in me prime.
Boys, come and kiss me;
Show how you'll miss me.
But get me to the greet on time!

::twirling and dancing daintily::::

Weeeeee! Is it time to go yet, Bear??

Have a good time, and if you can't stay out of trouble, at least have the
curtousy to take pictures of the trouble you get in. See you in the fall I
hope.

Well, I ended up on the side of I88 and in Oneonta for about 8 hours, so
I'll bet y'all didn't want to join me. <sfsf>
Met some really nice people tho. Just not the ones I wanted to meet.

The gods of rain to exception to my singing and Doc got completely flooded.
So there is no pictoral evidence of me getting into trouble.
Bummer.
Fall? Yup, I'll be there!

Dayum Traci, sorry to hear this. What happened to make you spend 8 hours
"offside"? Been there, last year I spent a tad more than that up on I57
waiting on some friends (at least I thought they were friends)`till finally
I pinged Hawgeye and he came to rescue me. Taught me a lesson, when ya fry
your stator *that* badly, change the regulator when you do the stator swap.
I'll Shirley remember *that* lesson.

I've been learning to redefine the term "friends" the last couple years. The
ones that come at the drop of a hat, or sit and wait and do phone/roadside
repairs for _hours_ are my new definition!

To be honest, I was more on road...::cough cough:: BANG..... off
road.....etc
All was going well....Doc was roaring along, we were holding steady at about
70-75 (well, my speedo actually _read_ about 85) in the torrential downpour,
when the sun came out and Doc started choking bad! I spent about 2-3 hours
wrenching in a small town gas station with the help of 2 young men (and Bear
on the cell, helping to trouble shoot). Got back on I88 only to have it
happen again. A guy on a beemer helped me off the highway at that point,
followed me to a gas station, grabbed a phone book and hooked me up with a
local shop, and led me there. That all took another couple hours. We parted
there once he saw I was in good hands. A big thanks to "Tim, the beemer
rider" from Burnt Hills!
Learned lessons? gahhh....don't ya hate it? But one thing I never tire of is
learning there are truly some decent folk out there. The next 4 hours or so
was filled with calls to Bear, who had breakfast AND lunch while waiting for
me, and the folks at Oneonta Motorsports bending over backwards to get me
rolling. They even put in calls to a "Harley guy" at his home for tips.(all
for 5 dollars!!) I finally called it a day, and started heading home on 7
doing about 40. I only made it to Wooster, and at that point I could'nt go
over 30. Enough is enough. I pulled into a NAPA/gas station (who makes up
these combo shops out in the boondocks!!??) He was hot! heh He called the
AAA towing guy, and while they couldn't get the bike home that day, they'd
be happy to give me a lift, as they were going that way! While I waited one
of the guys from Oneonta Motorsports showed up. He had followed me to be
sure I was ok!! Too cool! (AAA tow folks, Chase Chevrolet, Inc. in Wooster
NY) All disclaimers apply. Just seriously nice folks!
So....long story longer.....we got the bike back Tues and tore into it. At
this point the problem(s) seem to be.... a poorly repaired/re-broke wire at
the selonoid (yea, that was mine) a gas tank filled with a sludge of Kreme
coat chips, paint from the tank neck (I'd like to strangle the bastard who
painted the tanks without taping off or plugging any of the holes!!) And I
swear, what looks like road dirt, and a ton of water. The petcock was jam
packed with this crap and so were the jets. I had water pouring out of the
air cleaner and everything. OH ane the rubber bands on the intake are shot
to hell, so I was sucking in air and rain there too.
I should be up and running by this evening, and have been told to _not
touch_ the electrical again. Yea, right. ;)

This bodes well for the EK III run! Look for some rainy weather and run the hell
out of Doc (like you gotta *look* for rainy weather.... HAH!).

Well, it was a blown head and base gasket. (guess my electrical work
_wasn't_ that bad.) All fixed and running the hell out of 'im! Even had a
couple rides that weren't in the rain!
(won't be any water restrictions this year, eh? ;)
