The carb itself is the same. The TC carb may have larger pilot and main
jets installed.

Identical to the EVO carb, just different jetting.

I am sure as heck no expert here, but I've seen a couple of older (but not real
old) carbs that *looked* different than my 2001 CV. The difference I remember
was apparently an overflow line going to the float bowl. Probably not
something to worry about, but they may be cosmetically different looking eh?

OK thanks. I can work with that. Nother cold one while I'm up?
The price is right on the CV's. Unless I find an e this weekend at the swap
meet.

Depends on what kind of riding yer gonna do, I guess. My own take on
it is that the CV is a better carb across a broader range of riding
conditions than the S&S. It's not perfect...no carb is...but it's damn
good. Run 'em both over the years, and once I got over the peer
pressure that I "just had to" spend $400 for a new carb and learned
how to tune the CV, I was a happy camper. The Keihin has a bad rep
because the MoFoMoCo sets it up according to rules laid on them by Big
Brother. Fortunately it's easy to tune, simple to maintain, and once
you have it set it's really transparent to the process -- no dickin'
around with jets or whatever. Just crank it up and go.
Seems to me that particularly with a hack yer lookin' to preserve
low-end torque, and the CV's design specifically maximizes efficiency
at partial throttle. Sounds to me like that's yer choice, right there.

You'll be happier with the CV instead any S&S carb over-all.
RickB <unless you ride with an on/off throttle>
Now thats funny
I think I'll be getting a look at it soon. My only concern is if it will fit
between the oil lines that I installed going to the front and rear head.
They *Y* at the bottom tho, so I think I'll be OK.

Yup, that's what I'm looking for. I've resisted all my friends taunts that I
don't have enough chrome, I can resist spending $400 bucks on anything. lol

I think this is exactly why it was recommended. I like to ride far and wide,
and that *beer holder* demands low-end torque. Sounds like I have my game
plan. Thanks, Skiv!

Might be fun to try. <g>

Sure t'ing, Toots. Dat's what we're here for.
