May 1, 2013......minding my own business......Pacemaker zapped me.....my world lit up.....totally unexpected.....fortunately my bride was driving because in less than ten miles.....three in a row......she called UNC hospital and said for her to head to the ER.......flashers on.....just as we pulled under ER sign......ZAP! They threw me in a wheel chair and headed for ER where the Infamous Blue Magnet quickly turned it off.

Defective pacing lead from 2007.

My assigned doctor is the great-grandson of Erwin Rommel - The Desert Fox of WW2!

After five days of no Warfarin he goes in, caps off the defective lead, installs a new pacing wire and while he is in there a new Pacemaker.

Threw my ass out yesterday at 5PM.

They brought a professional truck driver in off of I-85 yesterday morning.
Seventy MPH with cruise control on...pacemaker started zapping....62 times in 14 minutes....he couldn't disengage cruise and finally ground every thing to a stop against a guard rail....

He demanded they remove the Pacemaker....said he would rather die than experience one more zap....

I've got to reconsider my future in motorcycling.....it's much worse than sticking your finger in a light socket.....I had no idea it was so severe.

Good health to you and yours,

Greasy

Bill that would scare the poop out of me.

You are right it would not be a good time to have been driving or
riding.

Take care of yourself.

UNC is a fine hospital. The cancer ward did everything they could for
my mother.

How very lucky, you weren't driving or riding!! I've heard of
malfunctions, but none that severe. WOW. Glad to hear your alright.
