I'm currently hauling my family's 3 bikes in an enclosed cargo trailer.
It is large enough that 3 or 4 can sleep overnight in it as well.
I've seen the "toy hauler" type RVs but they all seem a little large for
some of the places I go. I've been eyeing the 5th wheel horse
trailers you see on the road with the front as a camper with AC etc.
I've also considered doing a camper conversion on the front half of my
20 ft cargo trailer, windows, insulation, AC, refrigerator etc.
Anybody care to share thoughts and experiences along these line?

Go to your local caming/rv show.
Coachmen or someone already makes one. The back is a gate that folds down
and you wheel the bike right in.

I saw a neat unit this summer. It was about a 20' goose neck trailer,
with a truck box camper mounted at the front (wrapped over the goose neck
section). The side holes on the truck camper were boxed in for storage.
This left about a 12' deck at the back for his toys.

I was thinking of doing the same thing, with an additional tarped section
for about half of the remaining deck space. This would give you a dry
place to store your riding gear, and still keep all the mud and shit outa
the camper.

Yeah I have the slide-in for sale and a 20 ft Wells Cargo. Unfortunately the
slide-in wouldn't fit your truck, has to be a long bed. Spent the weekend in
the new trailer, did Whitmire Saturday, the older son fell in a mud hole and
took a SHOWER when we got back to the trailhead! Talk about roughing it!

My son and I recently (about 2 months ago) purchased a new 22 ft. RoadHouse by
Weekend Warrior. We were trying to find a good used one (2 or 3 years old) but
most that we found were either trashed or just didn’t have the options we
wanted. Once we would add in the options that were important to us, we found
that a new one wasn’t that much more. We still have the 3 rail for single day
trips, but the RoadHouse has tripled the comfort/fun factor on our multi-day
excursions. We keep everything from tools and spare parts to clean Jerseys and
breakfast cereal in it. We just hook up and go. This is going to greatly
increase our travel range for off road excitement.

Have Fun,

Floyd
