The procedure is some big machine which is like a rack and tugs on you
for a while!! Claims to releive pressure and allow the disk to repair.
All the other back "specialists" who I have seen says "just live with
the pain" ... these guys say we can fix it.
Before I spend the money I need to find someone who has done it!!! For
warm fuzzies ...
I know in the world of dirt bikes there must be one ...
It sure does cost a bundle ... glad the insurance is paying for it;-)

Yup, been there and done that. The result.....back surgery. This so
called "rack", in addition to the quack doctor, wound up pinching my
disk more. Had surgery two years ago.
No you won't be the same, but..........sure feels good to walk again.

You're talking about traction. I've got a herniated L4-L5, and had
traction treatments for about 2 months, with little effect.
I'm no expert, but I don't think that you're going to find a miracle
cure. I've tried chiropractic, cortizone shots, massage therapy,
accupuncture, motrin, and other stuff. The only effective treatment
for me has been physical therapy, a.k.a. work. I do exercises 6 days
a week, no excuses.
I now race/ride wearing a Weider weightlifting belt (a wide one).
This has dramatically reduced riding-induced back pain. It's much
more effective than a kidney belt.

WHAT?!? Mikeee P. isn't our leader? I've been going the wrong way?
Mikee, it is great to have your wisdom and insightful comments
back...Uh, Ok, it's great to have your clever thoughts and
remarks...ANYway, glad you're back.
PS, at just what shade of brown is it OK to rip off a scab?

Sorry, no experience with the contraption. Quite a bit of
experience with back pain tho :-(
Surprisingly, the best remedies I've found are regular exercise and
riding. Yes, riding. If my back is bothering me, a few days of
hard riding and some ibuprofen seems to push everything back into
place.
I'm still working on getting my insurance company to cover that Rx
for the new XR400 :-)

We don't stop riding because our backs go bad, our backs go bad because
we stop riding.
